We’re pumped to be partnering with some of the most creative local chefs around. They’re bringing their artistry to our farm’s harvest, all in the spirit of community and food justice.

Chef Mar (he/they) is a young chef who started their professional cooking career in the city four years ago. Having spent most of his life on the African continent, with Afro Carribean-American roots, he specializes in Afro fusion/diasporic cuisine.

They’ve recently been cooking between Dogon and Chai Pani in DC ; in an attempt to hone their skills in non-Eurocentric cuisine.

Otherwise, he spends his free time running a Gambian/ Afro Diasporic culinary concept called Nekhna(); where he orchestrates private dining experiences as well as occasional food vending. Within Nekhna, Mar also loves to use his skills to raise funds for those in need or contribute to mutual aid projects.
Can’t wait to share what they’re cooking up with you! 🍴
