This, is why we almost ALWAYS refuse to attempt to brush out a dog that is covered in Matting even if they are small.
If we can spot shave areas and keep the coat looking good we will attempt to save the length of the coat most times small matts end up all over and it is in fact painful to get through them.
Maintance brushing is so important for your dogs. You must brush to prevent matts so you can save your dogs coats.

Another explanation of matted dogs. One thing she didn’t mention is shaving coats that are not washed first, will dull and damage our blades causing us to have to get them sharpened faster or even replace them entirely.

Matting example: a lot of small mats tucked under what feels like a brushed through coat on the surface… really close to the skin.. make it impossible to shave without a blade short enough to get inbetween them and the skin.
Clip combs that are used for long lengths cannot be used at all with any matting. They catch on the tangle and get ripped off the clipper.

Can we all just swoooon over Lincoln with his beautiful and flawless fluffy doodle coat!

Lincoln comes to us every 2 weeks!!! This truly has made grooming him such a breeze and completely stress-free for him!

The TINY tangles he may come in with are easily trimmed right out and the rest of his coat is able to be brushed, tangle free!

We cannot take all the credit. Lincolns family sure gives him his dedicated brushings in order to keep him looking his best! If you happen to see this handsome fella around town I am positive you can't go without saying HI! He's a head turner! 😍🥰😍🥰
