ADOPTED!!

Mack has received little to no interest during his time here at the shelter. He did not have the best life prior to arriving here, and needs someone who will be patient with him. He can get a little scared sometimes, but his love for humans is so strong and will make you feel so special. We really hope there is someone out there who will give Mack a chance to live his best life. If you are interested in Mack and have dog(s), we recommend a meet and greet to ensure he will be a good fit! At this moment we are unsure how he is with cats. Mack’s adoption fee is $85 which includes his neuter, microchip, and first set of vaccinations. We are open Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm and appointment only on weekend mornings!

ADOPTED!!! 💕🐾💕

Thanks for all the shares, likes and comments—Honey has found an amazing forever family.

Honey is an amazing gal still looking for her forever people. She’s about 10 months old and was found in a shed last summer as a puppy with no food or water. Honey is a German Shepherd/Corgi mix, and she looks GSD but has the cutest short Corgi legs and bloomers, one floppy ear and beautiful mismatched brown eyes. Don’t let her breed or age intimidate you—she’s not high energy or rambunctious and she loves dogs of all sizes and everybody she meets. Honey is house and crate trained. She is spayed and current on vaccines and flea/heartworm treatment. Please help us find the wonderful home this girl deserves. Honey is located in Eastern NC but transport can be arranged.

Our newest and youngest rescue baby has been in a foster home for about a week now. Toby was taken to a shelter before being fully weaned and was found all alone. ENC Rescue Alliance is fostering for the shelter until little Toby is old enough to be adopted out and fully weaned. If you are interested in adopting him in a few weeks please send us a message and we can let you know where he will be available and approximately when. He is so sweet and social. He is also growing up with large dogs and loves them already!

Honey is still looking for her forever home. Honey is ~10 months old and was rescued from a storage building in the middle of the summer with no A/C, food or water. She’s a GSD/corgi mix and has the most beautiful shepherd markings with the short stature of a corgi. She’s bubbly and energetic. Beep collar trained and spayed. Here’s what her foster mama recently shared:

Honey is really starting to come out of her shell. She is doing really well with our two current female labs. Honey has pretty good leash manners and just keeps improving. She’s learning some boundaries and doing well with obedience and off leash walks around the house. We took a trip to Tractor Supply and she took everything in stride! There wasn’t a stranger in the store to her and she greeted everyone politely. She isn’t the type of dog that would only need one person, she loves everyone! She’s not too keen on being left alone but settles down after a while and is so excited when you come back for her. She’s a very mellow dog and is content laying at your feet. Honey has proved to be housebroken as well as kennel trained.

Honey is located in eastern NC but transport is available.

Honey is adopted!!!
Dixie and Honey- these sisters are already spayed and vetted. Both girls have great personalities and need a forever family! Born in July 2023 and rescued from an extremely hot shed they were locked in. They are currently in foster homes and need permanency! We believe both would do well with children and they both get along with other dogs! They are shepherd/Corgi mixes.

Dixie is now on her way to her foster home! She is bigger than her sister Honey (who has the shorter Corgi legs), and seems to have a little more energy. Dixie seems to be more "shepherd". Keep in mind both these girls are not even a year old yet. Both Dixie and Honey would make wonderful family dogs and both are house broken! If you like hiking or being active with your dogs, both girls would be a great fit! If interested in meeting them, reach out or email [email protected]!

Thanks for all the shares, likes and comments—Honey has found an amazing forever family.

Honey is settling into her foster home quite well! She is an approximately 1 year old Shepherd/Corgi mix. She has the short Corgi legs and the shepherd face. Honey and her sister were rescued after being left in a very hot shed without food or water. Even though Honey is shorter than a shepherd, she still has plenty of shepherd energy and is eager to learn and please. She is dog friendly and seems to be housebroken. Honey is already spayed and vaccinated. We are accepting applications for those interested in being her FOREVER family.

Friends and followers, we are trying to help find loving homes for two high-energy pups. Here’s their story:

Clementine and Dixie are litter mates believed to be GSD/Husky/Corgi mixes—the result of a breeding between a neglected brother and sister who are now adopted out and spayed/neutered. Dixie and Clementine were found in an outside building last August with no air conditioning, no food and no water, and were rescued in the nick of time. Clementine was nursed back to health and a loving community member took in both pups. Clementine and Dixie have shown no aggression when it comes to other dogs. Their person shares that these active gals are approximately 7 months old and are good with small dogs and children. The only warning is that Clementine “screams” loudly when she is ready to go outside to use the bathroom. Their current person says that both dogs have been given a clean bill of health, despite their inbreeding. Their carer would love to find wonderful adoptive homes for both Clementine and Dixie—they don’t need to be adopted out together. The reason for rehoming is to find the most suitable loving homes where these active gals can thrive.

Clementine (the shepherdy-looking sister) is approximately 54 pounds and Dixie is approximately 45 pounds. Both are house broken and kennel trained. Both are beep collar trained. Their person shared that both gals are great with kids and other dogs; cats are an unknown but they appear afraid of the neighbor’s cats. Both pups are up-to-date on vaccines and are spayed.

Clementine is scheduled to go to a new foster near Washington NC before the end of the month, and Dixie will remain in Thomasville NC for now, though we’d love to find a good foster for her. We can help with transport.

Please reach out if interested in fostering Dixie or adopting Clementine and/or Dixie and we can put you in touch with their current person.

Fundraiser Alert!
We would love to be able to continue to rescue more animals! So far, all funds for this rescue have come out of our board members wallets. Our goal is not only to pull and rescue animals from kill shelters, but to also assist in reducing numbers. For those who do not know, NC has the SNIP program for people on government assistance to have their pets spayed or neutered. There are also voucher programs offered for cats by the humane society. We would love to be able to get funds raised to have vouchers offered for dogs to people who are NOT given government assistance. Please help us in raising money for vet expenses and for this future program!

As an incentive, we are auctioning these brand new apple air pods pro! For every $5 you donate, your name is put in a drawing. Therefore, if you donate $20, your name will be entered 4 times! Drawing will be held at 7pm on March 3rd, 2024! Please help us to save more lives and also one day prevent more accidental litters!

To enter, see our comments on different ways to pay (PayPal, Cashapp, Venmo), make a donation of your chosen amount ($5 minimum to enter), then share and comment "shared, enter me in the drawing!" So we know to look for your payment and enter your name the appropriate amount of times. Your comment must be on THIS original post.

We are looking for a foster for a husky mix. Maggie is about 1.5 years old and already spayed. Unfortunately, Maggie has found herself in the shelter twice already. 1st time- found as a stray. 2nd time- adopted and returned for being destructive in the house. She was then adopted again and now being rehomed. Current owner says she is unable to keep due to Maggie not being allowed inside (landlord rules). She roams out of the electric fence boundary and gets into the neighbors trash, so she is currently being kept in a pen. Maggie was in the shelter for weeks before this last adoption. Why? Because she is shy. It takes her time to warm up to people (never aggressive), but when she does, she's attached. Maggie needs someone to keep her busy (as most husky do), and offer training. We were informed that she's housebroken, but never agree to a dog without the willingness to train because you just never know. Maggie is also good with cats and dogs. This may be a long shot, but we would love to find Maggie her forever home one day and we cannot do it without first finding a foster.

Both boys are Adopted!!!!
These two St.Bernard/Husky mixes have been pulled from the shelter and are available for adoption after they are neutered. They are approximately 10 weeks old and the sweetest most cuddly pups you may ever meet! If interested in adopting one of these boys, please email [email protected] or see the link below in the comments for the adoption application. Keep in mind, these will be very LARGE dogs and they will also shed. But if you feel like you are going to keep them outside and never let them in, do not apply. We want our rescue babies to be family.

After being over looked in the shelter with the intake of so many younger puppies, we were worried about Trooper growing up in the shelter. A wonderful person stepped up to foster him and we were able to get him out. After only a few days, Trooper is officially adopted by a wonderful family and will be so loved! This boy is so deserving! If you are interested in making a donation to help us save more lives, please send us a message or email! [email protected]
