Meet Sage!
Sage is a 12-year old female terrier mix. Sage was adopted from Pet Search as a puppy, but recently returned due to previous owners change in living environments. Her beautiful brindle coat matches her sweet personality! Sage is completely potty trained and knows many commands and tricks. Sage gets along very well with other dogs. She is leash and crate trained. Sage is the best of both worlds with the temperament of a mature dog, but yet spunky and always ready to play with her toys like that of a pup.
Sage is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. She is eager to find her furever home and humans that will give her the love and loyalty she deserves.

Pittie (3/23/19) has had so many tragedies in her life...She was a stray 9 month old puppy when she came to pet Search and was adopted a few months later by Tami and Bart. Two weeks after her adoption, Tami suddenly passed away. Pittie became Bart's center of his world as they both grieved the loss of Tami.
Bart suddenly passed away in June and Pittie is grieving once again. She is back with Pet Search and we have given her some time to adjust to her loss. Pittie was raised with a cat and she was originally in a foster home with other dogs, but we are slowing working with her to check her dog selectiveness as she was an only dog for almost 4 years.
Pittie has had so many losses in her short life- we are hoping to find another person or family that will provide stability and let her become the love of their life. Can you give her that second chance?

Paul is a handsome 1.5 year old sweet boy, he was abandoned as an older kitten and brought to Pet Search with his siblings. Paul is a playful boy who loves pets and snuggles. Paul is FeLv/FIV negative, fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped , and waiting for his forever family. He lives in a foster home with both cats and dogs.

Meet Lucy and Ethel!

Their little lives started out rough as they were tossed from a car on the interstate. Safe now they have been evaluated by our vet and decompressing in their foster home. We believe they are 3 1/2 month old chihuahua/papillon mixed. Lucy weighing 7 lbs is large and in charge of the house, while Ethel, weighing 6 lbs is more laid back and prefers a to give kisses and snuggle. They are dog friendly, love to play and do zoomies. They are crate trained and working on their potty skills. Lucy and Ethel are not bonded and will not be adopted out together( please look up littermate syndrome). In anticipation of a large number of applications please allow 10 days for us to process your applications. Applications with missing information such as vet phone numbers will not be processed. My name is Andi and I came to Pet Search in a cat trap. Someone trapped me and took me to the Pet Search “office” and left me there. My foster mom found me and took me to her home and kept me in her garage until she was able to get a vet appointment. She talked to me and scratched my ears through the trap. I liked that a lot. I was warm and got good food. We took a ride together with a bunch of other cats to get checked out and get ‘fixed’. I am now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My only downfall is that I tested positive for FIV . I am so very gentle and loving and love being with other cats as well as with dogs. FIV positive cats can live without any problems with other cats and I am very healthy.
They tell me I am just over 3 years old (12/2021) and I so want to have a family of my own again. I had a family once who abandoned me and that is how I ended up in a trap and with my wonderful foster family. But it would be great to have a permanent family of my own.

Pet Search was contacted in August regarding additional kittens that were born at a colony we had been working with the owner of the home since 2023. Six kittens were removed during a period of 5 weeks. We named them the Cheers litter because everyone would be able to remember their names. However, the younger litter of 3, which were all black in color, did not thrive and passed away within a week.
However, Diane, Rebecca and Carla, grew and got healthier.
Diane (8/14/24) from one feral mother, was the first kitten trapped. Now very socialized, she loves playing with the other cats in the foster home and has been raised with dogs. She is felv/fiv negative, spayed, microchipped and scheduled for final vaccines. She would be a wonderful companion in a home with another cat.

It is never ending… 6 feral cats at Steel Vet Services to be spayed/neutered and ear tipped.
Three are from a Rostraver Mobile home park; 3 are from the new colony of 25 cats in Washington county. We know that the majority are females and most likely pregnant or at least in heat.
Aluminum can recycling is helping to cover the expense of their veterinary care.

This is how we put your recycled aluminum to the best possible use... the money generated from recycling aluminum helps with our TNR colonies.

Interested in helping the environment and cats? Pet Search uses money from recycling aluminum for our TNR program! Money from recycling aluminum is used for altering feral and free roaming cats as well as feeding cats in the colonies we maintain. You can drop off aluminum at General Alloy, 135 West Wylie Avenue in Washington ( tell them your aluminum is for Pet Search and they will credit our account) or 915 Jessop Place in Washington.
Please put your bags of cans in the red bin inside the gate at Jessop and not on the front porch.
We can not recycle steel cans (dog food, vegetable, soup) so please do not include those with your aluminum.

Pig (Luna)
Last spring Luna was found inside a couch after giving birth to 5 kittens. Unfortunately, only 3 survived due to the conditions they were born into. She was just a kitten herself but was a wonderful mom to her remaining babies. She is being fostered in a home with a teenager and a small dog. She is extremely friendly and loves a good scratch on the head. She isn’t a lap cat but loves to sit next you on the couch and lay in bed with you. She got the nickname pig because she loves to eat and she snores quite loudly (which her foster family finds amusing and cute)
She loves to sit in the sun and is still very loving with her kittens that are 1 year old now
