Rocky is such a stunning and lovable guy!! He is very anxious here and we hope it won’t be much longer before he can feel comfortable again.. Rocky is shy at first, but in seconds he is the sweetest and most cuddly boy. He has not been dog tested yet, but we have not seen any signs of aggression. He is a big baby who’s scared and needs a comfy home ASAP! If you are interested in Rocky and have dog(s) you are welcome to bring them for a meet and greet!! ADOPTED!!

Roger still needs a home!! He does not ask for much.. a sunny fenced in back yard would make him the happiest dog in the world! He is the sweetest guy and tested well with another dog, but prefers no rough play as resting is top on his priority list with a few runs here and there and someo human cuddles. Roger’s adoption fee is $85 including his neuter, microchip and first set of vaccinations! Our shelter is FULL so come on over between 1pm-5pm Monday-Friday and look at our awesome selection of dogs who are in need of a forever home.

We have three husky mix puppies looking for their forever homes! The 2 darker pups are males and the one with more white is a female. They are playful, but also want lots of cuddles. Roger is a very sweet and lazy hound looking for his forever home!! When Roger came into the shelter, it seemed like he slept 99% of the day. He came in as a stray so it is unknown what he has gone through prior to his arrival at the shelter, but we do know he was very exhausted.. We really hope someone out there is willing to give this guy the best life! Our shelter is staying full so any adoptions we have can save another dog’s life!!!!

Slater (M gray/white) and Bodhi (M black/white) desperately need a loving home! They are so sweet and always thankful for any attention. Unfortunately, our bigger puppies tend to get looked over, but we know there is a family out there that can give one of these guys a wonderful home! With that being said they are not dependent on each other and do not have to go together. Each pups adoption fee is $85 including their neuter, microchip, and first set of vaccinations! ❗️LONGEST RESIDENT❗️

Violet (spayed female) is our longest resident and still has not found a home.. With the shelter staying full our chance to find her a great home is getting smaller and smaller. Violet is truly the sweetest girl who loves to play and chew on toys as well as trying to work her slightly overweight body onto your lap! 🤣 She tries her hardest not to jump on you, but sometimes makes a mistake because she is just so excited to see you. Violet gets the funniest zoomies and will surely give you a good laugh from time to time!! We hope there is a family out there that is willing to open their home to this very deserving girl. Violet has tested well with other dogs, but we would still recommend a meet and greet to ensure she will be a good fit. We are unsure of cats. Violet is also already spayed so her adoption fee is reduced and she is ready to go home as soon as she’s adopted! The shelter is open for walkins Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm and by appointment only Saturday and Sunday mornings!

Whiskey (neutered male) is still here! He has not had much if any interest and we don’t know why. He is a goofy, sweet and playful guy who can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Whiskey is a bloodhound mix so he is expected to be large once full grown. Whiskey is already neutered so he is ready to go home TODAY and available for a reduced fee!!

He is truly the sweetest little guy and would make a family so so happy. He is around one year old and only weighs 27 pounds!! Marcy is still here and would really like a comfy home as soon as possible; she is simply too sweet to be in a place like this.. She is a little timid at first, but warms up into a cuddly sweetheart. She also LOVES toys and is one of the few that does NOT shred stuffed toys. Marcy is very petite and full grown at about 2 years old. She is such a unique looking girl with a wonderful personality, and we have no doubt she will make a family very happy!! Marcy is dog friendly, but as always we recommend a meet and greet if you have other dog(s). Marcy is believed to be a fiest mix. Her adoption fee is $85 including her spay, microchip, and first set of vaccinations!

RESCUED!! Freya (F) BEGS for someone to give her a forever home!! She is so loving and has the most stunning eyes. Freya’s adoption fee is $65 which includes her spay, microchip, and first set of vaccinations!

ADOPTED!! Flow is kid and cat tested and even walks so gently on a leash! Why is she still here?! Flow is around 1 and a half and her adoption fee is $85 which includes her spay, microchip, and first set of vaccinations!

Animal control means protecting pets from the many dangers they may face, both in the wild and in their domestic environments. Animal control also means protecting people and property from the dangers and nuisance of roaming, uncontrolled animals on the streets. Animal control is a way to help people and animals live together in harmony. Animal control means knowing how to handle animals and how to work with people too.

The Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility houses the animals that have been picked up in the communtity or turned in by the citizens of the county. The animals coming in are placed on a 72 hour hold to allow those who have lost their pets a chance to reclaim them before they are placed for adoption. You may visit the shelter during regular business hours to view available animals.
