BEAUFORT COUNTY...

It is below freezing and only going to get colder. We still have wheat straw available to those in need. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING NOW! If the weather gets worse, we will try our hardest to get to animals that need us, but it is best for us to make it to them before they are in dire need of our help.

Enzo and Elsa are available for Adoption
These adorable 3 month old APBT pups are full of energy and personality
Enzo is bold and outgoing and loves his toys
Elsa is a little more reserved but once she opens up she's silly and fun.

These ARE PUPPIES and need families ready for lots of energy and chewing!
Elsa does have double cherry eye, it does not bother her at this time and is easily adressed with a minor surgery but anyone interested in this Lil cutie will have to understand this is a medical condition that will need to be addressed with your vet at some point in the future...do not adopt if not dedicated!

ADOPTED!!

We cannot believe this handsome guy has not been scooped up yet!! Remy is around a year old and loves to tell you about his feelings. He enjoys being outside and exploring. We are told Remy is dog friendly, but meet and greets are still encouraged❤️ We are open Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm and by appointment only on weekend mornings! Please keep in mind that although Remy likes to be outside right now with the cold, he should never be outside for long periods of time in the crucially hot days of summer.

A cry for sweet Charlie Brown😌

Charlie Brown is a big puppy who is now our longest resident. He tries so hard to contain his excitement when meeting new people, but sometimes is a little much which we think scares people away. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy and vocal, but who can blame him? Meeting new people in a place where you are isolated a lot of the time is exciting stuff! In the comments is a video of how Charlie Brown is after just a few minutes of getting to run. He is truly a great guy and just needs someone who will be patient and get him on a schedule. Or in other words RESCUE HIM❤️ He is so so smart and seems to be the perfect dog for training as he is treat motivated. Charlie Brown is around 1 year old.

Edit: Charlie Brown IS dog friendly, but is just as excited to see other dogs as he is to see people so he will need to be taught boundaries or have a playmate that is just as playful as him! Charlie Brown does NOT need to be in a home with cats.

BOTH ADOPTED!!

We still have two male pups left hoping for a forever family. They are around 7 weeks old, eating hard food, and cannot wait to receive the love every dog deserves!! Their mom is a short and chunky pit/bully mix, and father is unknown. These guys are at the perfect age to introduce to new doggy or kitty friends. They are a little more reserved for the time being, but can’t help to wag their tail super fast when you are loving on them.

Let’s find these adorable guys a home so they won’t be alone for the weekend!!

Welcome to Beaufort County Animal Control

Animal control means protecting pets from the many dangers they may face, both in the wild and in their domestic environments. Animal control also means protecting people and property from the dangers and nuisance of roaming, uncontrolled animals on the streets. Animal control is a way to help people and animals live together in harmony. Animal control means knowing how to handle animals and how to work with people too.

The Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility houses the animals that have been picked up in the communtity or turned in by the citizens of the county. The animals coming in are placed on a 72 hour hold to allow those who have lost their pets a chance to reclaim them before they are placed for adoption. You may visit the shelter during regular business hours to view available animals.
