Ever wonder what the benefits are of having your dog microchipped?

Most vet offices and shelters have scanners to scan for chips. If your dog is lost and microchipped, the office can easily scan them for the chip which is connected to your information.

The microchip companies will send you pamphlets on signing up for a subscription to the services which allows you to use their website to notify, print flyers with their information, and organize the search for the animal. Regardless of whether you subscribe to the service, if a dog is microchipped, it is registered to you and if the chip is scanned, your info will come up, making it easier to connect you to your missing pet.
