A New Year's Message from Micki, our Executive Director:
"Hello and Happy Holidays to you all!
I want to introduce you all to the newest addition to my family. This is Miss Luella Pearl, aka LuLu. My family recently adopted her and we are beyond excited!
Lulu insisted on helping me with this video because she wants you all to know how thankful she is for folks like you who donate to our organization to help little ones like her have a second chance at life. Unfortunately, LuLu was the victim of yet another very challenging year. Like so many other pets these days, she was surrendered through no fault of her own. It breaks my heart to see so many animals in our shelters and foster homes. And what’s worse, we have waiting lists a mile long. With shortages in veterinary care and the slow down in adoptions, we just can’t rehome animals as quickly as we used to.
BUT, despite all that, this year has brought us many high notes as well.
One being, we are still here thanks to you and your generosity!
Secondly, we loved seeing so many of you in person at Hike on the Dike and Supporter Appreciation Day. It was so fun!
And, FINALLY, FINALLY being able to move our cats into our new cat shelter. This was a HUGE win not just for our kitties but for our staff and volunteers. It feels so good to be back together on one campus working as a team.
By the way, we will have an open house for the cat shelter on January 21st. Details to come!
