th these happy little ducks. We started out again in 2008 with 2 white hens, 1 very old large white, 3 gray drakes, 1 gray hen & 6 butterscotch drakes. From those ducks we have now from our own line ~ blue fawns, black bibbed, blue bibbed, self black, aleutian, snowys, pastels, butterscotch, blue butterscotch, spots. All have hatched over the years in this order. I have twin 11year old daughters that have been showing our calls since they were 6years old. They go to a dozen or more shows a year between ~ WA, OR, & CA and 3 fairs. We don't have any avian vets near us so we have to study and learn what we can. The girls help me with everything including shots, worming, feeding, cleaning, show prep & shipping the call ducks out to their new homes, & so much more. My # 1 piece of advise is to always have a easy way in & out of their bathing water & only 1/2 inch water dish for new duckling! We have found that the #1 death in call ducks would be the water dish, yes they will drown. very sad lesson we have had to give our ducklings from time to time CPR from them and near drowning.
