Hi, Heather & Shane here, im Heather & im the Lady, leaving Shane the luxory of being the Tramp. After apprenticing him in 2019 we reunited in 2022. He is my best friend, my better half, and even more soft-spoken than I am, which is soothing to the dogs. We actually met & discovered we are mirrors of each other. We have such similar stories & sorted pasts that we wiĺl probably write a book because they are so unique. Before becoming a groomer, Shane was an accomplished dog trainer for multiple years. We have appointments available this week & next. We have a wide range of experience since I owned & operated two high volume salons that employed 18 groomers. I started out at Petco & even was a salon manager. Our entire team left Petco in 2016 to create Mudpuppies grooming in Clackamas, & by our second year, we founded a new salon in Portland on Lombard near the I5 exit. In 2020 I separated to try to take a slower approach because we were so busy. I kept the original space in Clackamas & we called that salon The Grateful Dog. We both have a wide range in experience from the Lhasa's, shi tsu's, maltese, Havanese, Westies, yorkies, pomeranians, Schnauzers, Alaskan kleekai's, Paillions, Cairn Terriers, Cavalier, poodles, mini aussies,& Cocker Spaniels. We both know how to Hand strip, and follow breed standards. We also have a TON of experience with all genres of Doodle, Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, Great Pyrenees, Samoyed, Komondors, Bernese Mountain Dogs, St. Bernard's, Malamute, German Shepherd, Malinois, Briards, Bouvier, Wheaton, Greyhounds, Whippets, Australian Shepherds, Puli Puli,Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Cane Corso, Mastiff, Boxers, Bulldogs, Wolfhound, Korean Sapsaree,' Newfoundland, Irish Setters, Weimaraners, Springer Spaniel,Rottweiler,Doberman, Dalmatians, Shiba Inus'se Akitas, and of course pugs, chihuahuas, min pins, Boston Terrers, pit bulls, Shar Pei's, Labs, Vizla's, Tibetan Terriers, Airedadales, Great Danes, Wolfhound, and petty much any breed I haven't mentioned as well. We also groom cats, and bunnies. We also do mobile visits for elderly pets that are safer to be groomed in a safe place that is familiar to them. We do mobile visits for a nominal fee to come do mobile nail trims for cats & dogs. We have openings this week & next week, too. All grooms include Hypoallergenic shampoo & conditioner; ear cleaning, nail filing, toothbrushing, gland expression if necessary, as well as ear hair plucking if necessary. We typically can't answer the phone between 10am & 5pm because we are grooming & want to focus on our furry friend that deserves our focus & full attention during their scheduled time. We don't double book, use kennels at all, & we spend both of our time with the pet from start to finish one on one. Or maybe I should say two on one. Our hope is that a patient, safe, and steady approach will help the dogs acclimate to a new place, and that we are able to gain a rapport with your furry family member. A lot of our repeat clients are excited enough to pull or run towards the door. Small dogs are usually done in under 90 minutes. Medium to large dogs usually take around two hours, give or take 30 minutes. This usually depends on the dog, it's condition, or the length/ density of the coat. Behavior also plays a roll. We use familiar words with them like sit, or no, or good boy or girl rather than using words like stop. We try to instill confidence in the process. We typically don't use muzzles either, an airplane pillow usually does the trick. We shoot for comfort & a good looking groom, but will not use rigorous brushing, or dematting for vanity. We are not judgemental, and understand dog's get matted, but also know that hair grows back. We are right by Hiway Fuel on 10th & G St. in Washougal. We would love to meet your furry friend, and have the privilege of being your groomers. We also do boarding mainly for our clients if you go out of town.
