It's the most wonderful time of the year 🥰
A family is all an amazing Bestie needs!
Running into the Christmas season like:
Is it possible to have too many good updates in one day?
Nah, we didn't think so either.
Purr is doing AH-FUGGING-MAZING.
He is using his voice today, and even had some energy to play with his nudist foster sister.
We still have $750 to fundraise to cover his hospitalization.
Can we make a final push? 🙏

I actually didn't think he'd take to this this easy, but he's wheelin around keeping me company while I carry groceries in.
We'll have some additional supplies our fundraising will go towards for him like drag bag, belly bands, liners for the belly bands, socks for his back feet, ramps for the front stairs, and his veterinary expenses while we pursue a diagnosis and treatment for him!

Jack's story makes me truly sad.
His former owner surrendered him due to the cost of having to care for a special needs dog. Recently diagnosed with possible IVDD, he has lost the use of his back legs.
I took one look at his face, and I'm convinced he is related to my special girl Noelle (the bfar logo dog!) I couldn't turn him away.
Described as a crazy happy dog that jumped all over the furniture and ran all over the house prior to his injury. Now, he is this.
He hangs out in his pen, quiet as a mouse. He was so stressed and afraid the first few days he wouldn't eat or take his meds. I had to start shoving them down. He has begun to eat, but, the meds must still be adminstered.
Jack can pee, and poop on his own. He is unable to prevent the accidents, though, he does seem to know when he's pooping as he lifts his tail and seems to push.
He just wants a soft blanket and a warm lap to lay on during the day.
An exuberant dog has been resigned to a life of stillness (hopefully not for long!)
He's being fitted for a wheelchair today (we sure hope it fits, thank you PAWS of Nome!). If it doesn't, we are going to have to purchase one for him (unless of course you have a spare laying around?). He will also have continued medical care for what is at this time suspected IVDD.
If you'd like to contribute to Jack's care, we would sure appreciate it. We are hoping to procure a wheelchair that fits (if needed), drag bag or two, disposable male wraps (or disposable liners for the reusable ones we have), additional supply of puppy pads as he goes through several a day, other useful items that may make his life more comfortable like ramps, and pay for his medical bills and prescription refills. We are also hoping to explore alternative therapy options for him to regain his mobility.
