Gale is a playful young pup. She loves balls, chew toys and chasing her own tail but isn't too sure about squeakers. Belly rubs are her kryptonite! She’s a good girl in her kennel and sleeps well through the night. She walks nicely on a leash and is catching on quickly to basic obedience commands especially when there are treats involved! Gale is working on potty training and does best when she gets reminders to go outside. She played really well with a puppy friend who was slightly larger than her. She’s very tolerant, loves to be around people and will be your best little buddy!

Kritter is a super sweet boy. He's a little nervous with new people at first but warms up fast. LOVES toys. He's a snuggle bug and is happy to be in your lap. Gets along well with dogs and cats. He's house and crate trained but really easygoing out of a crate too. He has great leash manners and off-leash recall. Overall a very good boy.

Jemma is super loving and loves to climb up onto your lap. She will try to almost give you hugs even! She is great with kids of all ages and has been good with the cat she formerly lived with. She warms up to most dogs but gets a tad snarly until she warms up to them. She loves to play chase and will make a great companion for someone who wants a love bug. She loves treats and food of all kinds.

Todd is a playful pup who enjoys being outside with other dogs. He sleeps in his kennel at night, loves treats and snacks, and when he’s had his limit with interactions he’ll go to his kennel for quiet time. Todd is working on potty training but with frequent opportunities to go outside he seems to be doing fine. He does not care for a collar or leash but after more practice he’ll adjust. Todd is working on, “‘sit, stay, come’”, doesn’t care too much for being picked up, but will happily sit by you when on the couch.

This sweet boy is looking for his forever family. Kwygon loves going on adventures whether that be a car ride, a walk, skijoring, hiking or trying something new! He loves humans, and is especially gentle with tiny ones. He has not been exposed to smaller pets but does very well with female dogs, neutered male dogs, and has been showing great progress with unaltered male pups. This floof is very gentle, loving and is always ready for his belly rubs, butt scratches and snuggles. He is a quick study, learning new commands in his current foster home. Kwygon does well both on and off leash and his recall improves every day. If you are looking for a furry best friend, you just may have found him.

“Benny was recently surrendered to the shelter and unfortunately, we did not get to learn about how he was in his home. During his time in the shelter Benny has been friendly and happy to meet new people! He has been out on a couple Miles for Mutts adventures and has done well. We do not know if Benny has lived with other animals or children. Benny has not been reactive towards the other dogs in the shelter and has a friendly demeanor when seeing them! Benny is a middle-aged dude who may not be looking for a rambunctious puppy to play with. We can always accommodate a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! Benny loves to go on walks and appreciates having time outside. We haven't seen him be too interested in toys but will pick one up if he's trying to show off! Benny is becoming anxious in the shelter and is exhibiting some behaviors that may concern adopters. Benny is the type of dog who appreciates regular stimulation and enrichment - when he is bored, he may act out. We have noticed that Benny will attempt to hump when meeting new people. We do not know if this is something he did in his previous home, but we suspect that he does this because he is frustrated with boredom. In a home with regular exercise, we anticipate Benny being much happier. Benny does appear to be potty trained but please keep in mind that he will need time to adapt to his new home! He also walks well on a leash and knows the cues "sit", "lay down" and "shake"

We can't believe it.

We were so busy saving lives earlier in December we didn't even realize that we crossed over 2000 animals saved! Whaaaat!

In 4 short years we've done huge things. We've saved 2030 (and counting!) dogs, cats, horses, goats, snakes, lizards (just to name a few species!)

We started with a small dream of a group of wonderful kindred minds to make a small difference in whatever way we could. Our army of supporters saw this vision, related to it, and with their support we quickly launched into what we are today!

We can't say that the learning curve hasn't been tremendously steep. We've had set backs. But we've also had triumphs. We continue to learn and grow every day, and we want to thank every single one of you that stands next to us in the fight to make a difference for Alaskan animals on the daily. You've touched the hearts of more than just the 2030 souls we've saved.

Binji is a playful and spunky little guy. His mom was a beagle and his dad was a husky, so could be a medium sized dog. He has lots of energy and loves chasing the big dogs around the yard. Binji is working on house training and will use puppy pads. He is working on his manners and sticks to his own bowl at meal time. Binji has not been introduced to cats or children yet.

This is Buddy. He’s a good boy that needs to be in a home with a lot less going on. He’d be great as an only dog or possibly with another pup to play with. Buddy gets along with other dogs but some don’t appreciate his size (75lbs) and energy level. He’s vocal during play time and that can intimidate playmates. Buddy is also talkative when he needs to go outside, wants your attention, or wants to tell you someone new is around. Buddy loves people and just wants cookies and pets. He has met a cat but has not lived with one so unsure how he would do cohabitating. He has met some younger kids, but he forgets his size when excited and can knock smaller children over.

This is Otto! Otto is your typical puppy, very fun, very playful, but also LOVES a good snuggle on the couch. He has done very well with kids, dogs, cats, and horses! Otto is currently learning to love his crate and potty outside, but he is a quick learner and easily motivated with treats! Right now he weighs about 20 pounds.He is going to make a great adventuring partner!

We have a small little trio of boys needing to come into rescue. All 3 are around 7 year old intact Yorkie chihuahua mixes.

As you can see, each one will need extensive dentals, one will need his eye looked at and all 3 need neutered.

We are asking for your assistance in a couple ways.

First, and foremost we need foster homes for these guys! We can't do anything without a recipient foster family to place them with.

Secondly, we do expect these munchkins to incur a reasonable expense and they will likely lose a lot of teeth each, though their quality of lives should be improved greatly, we are hoping the community can help us prepare for that financially!

Disclaimer since these pups are not yet officially in rescue (though we have made the commitment to bring them in), in the rescue world nothing is certain until animals are in hand. In the event these guys don't actually make it to us, all funds raised will be reallocated to the cost of care of other animals within our program.

Valentino is a tall, lanky young man who is full of puppy playfulness and wiggles. He is affectionate and friendly, good with other pets and people. He is potty trained and crate trianed and quietly sleeps through the night. Valentino is working on expanding his training and he learns really fast with treats and lots of praise. He loves Nylabones and happily entertains himself with them.

Bonny is a lovable snuggle bug. She would like to spend her days laying at your feet and getting ear massages. She has a love for stuffy toys and needs to carry her "baby" around everywhere. She is extremely smart and is learning basic obedience and manners. She sleeps in her kennel at night and enjoys playing with the kids, including a toddler. She is mindful that some things are smaller than her and tries to be gentle. Bonny loves other dogs and her cat friend. She's going to make a great family dog or even an on the go dog for busy lifestyles. She would love to spend the new year with her furever home!

Treasure is a rambunctious girl who loves her people and dogs. She likes other cats after getting to know them but since she doesn’t have any kitty siblings she can be a bit rough. She loves food and treats. She loves her tiny mouse toy, balls, and climbing on things. She has a broken tail so it looks crooked and small but it's healed that way.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to have a Disney animal sidekick? Wiley is the perfect candidate! Wiley is sweet, derpy, and has all the grace of Bambi on ice as he grows into his long legs. Wiley is eager to please, learns quickly, and has a sweet disposition. He rides beautifully in the car, loves to frolic in the snow, and enjoys meeting people. Wiley has a submissive and playful personality and would enjoy a home with another dog. Wiley does well with dog-savvy cats but due to his natural prey drive would do best in a home without pocket pets. Wiley is crate trained and good with kids.

Hazelnut is a very small girl(approximately 25lbs) and is ready to run and explore. This little girl enjoys playing with the toddler in her foster home. Hazelnut calms down well for loves and grooming. She has minimal accidents inside and will go to the door to let you know she needs to potty. She is kennel trained. Hazelnut does well on a leash with verbal motivation and treats, She follows commands well and has a great recall. Hazelnut also enjoys car rides but appreciates a boost up, you know, short dog problems. ______________________________________

Boris is a big playful puppy. He is smart and obedient and tries to please. Boris gets along with all dogs but wont back down if another dog is challenging him. He seems indifferent to cats. Boris tends to forget his size and even though he loves everyone, may not be suited for small children.
