I am carrying on a line that my aunt has built up for 25 years. It’s no joke about all the time and money and resources you need to do this. It isn’t easy. It’s 100% worth it when you see what you created in the end. Countless hours of cleaning, feeding, training, socializing, vet appts. I love seeing all the happy families. ♥️

In the life of a devoted breeder
❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️
Sometimes a person sends a text to just ask for the price. The person who calls and hears the price and says
“I can buy a cheaper puppy somewhere else”.

Perfect

Behind every puppy/dog is a BREEDER.

I use capital letters to distinguish a breeder from an animal factory or puppy mill pet stores puppy peddlers.

A serious breeder does not breed dogs without documents that protect the integrity of the breed like lineage of the breeding line, multi generation of healthy produced pups with longevity and excellent temperaments.

With that being said, however, sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you might have a special pup amongst a perfect litter born that pup may be the runt or have issues for various reasons doesn’t always mean it’s a health issue.

It could mean it didn’t get enough nutrients, possibly got stuck in the canal it could be born with a undetected defect that was not noticed at birth although this doesn’t happen very often thank goodness, but it does happen.

I do my best to only invest into my breeding line from the best breeders out there meaning breeders that have been breeding for 20+ years 40+ years with longevity of fantastic health and temperament.

I don’t mind paying the higher price to guarantee.
I am getting the best possible dog to continue a breeding line.

Registration papers are records of ancestry documenting the bloodline and enabling you to investigate possible health problems in your lineage.

When you tell a breeder you don't care about the papers, just tell them you don't care about where the puppy comes from, you just want the cheapest thing you can find!

If you choose to buy a puppy from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for every puppy's health.

This breeder will skip vacations, miss sleep, and most of their personal home space has been transformed into space for their dogs.
The truly passionate breeder, who loves what they breed, puts all of their time into it.

Not only for puppies that are sold, but also for every customer who owns a piece of their heart and is now a member of their large family. Breeders worry about their babies after leaving and will take them back without question.
24hour breeder support
7 days a week with no question.

A breeder will get his hands dirty, often covered in everything that comes with birth.
Because that's what life is all about... in the midst of birth and death is life.
The wheel that keeps spinning. A breeder conducts echoes, x-rays, analytics, emergency c-sections, vaccinations, registrations, research pedigree & deworming their puppies.

Last but not least, a breeder CHOOSES the family who is lucky enough to have one of their puppies.
Yes, you read correctly.
A real breeder chooses who they sell to.

There really is no compensation that can offset the investment a breeder has made.
Meaning money is no good to me if I feel like it’s not a good home or fit.

A good breeder has other criteria for those who want to continue their bloodline, why? Because breeding isn't a responsibility to take lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.

That is why we have Spay Neuter contracts to protect the overpopulation of pets or accidents that may occur to keep the stress down on our shelters and rescue groups.

If you’re a breeder, it’s the responsible thing to do to have Spay Neuter contracts.

I cannot stress that enough.
It protects the breed.
It protects the dog, and it protects the overpopulation of unwanted pets.
If you don’t do it you’re part of the problem and you shouldn’t be breeding.

Since a dog is never “just a pet” he/she is the legacy of the breeder, a little boy's best friend, a protector of a little girl, therapy for the elderly, a member of the family, someone's whole world!

Responsible breeding and possession of several dogs is a lifestyle and commitment many cannot understand.

Every responsible breeder should have a minimum of a one-year health guarantee and Spay Neuter contracts.

7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our lives revolve around the dogs 1000000%

It has concerned me for years regarding a certain arrogance that's taken over dogdom that if we test the bejesus out of our dogs somehow we'll be protected. NOTHING could be further from the truth!!! There is NO test on Earth, nor will there ever be such a test, that will protect breeders and dog owners with the certainty of perfect health and guaranteed longevity in their puppies. DNA and genetic codes wield a VAST array of results that NO ONE can predict! You can take two fully-tested, perfectly healthy parents, breed them, toss their genetics together... mix it all up and end up with an absolute canine train wreck!!! There are NO guarantees in the world of breeding, there are no guarantees with genetics, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TEST! EVERY puppy is different, just like every human being is different, and you can never guarantee what any of us will face- in our own lives or that of our beloved pets. To think testing alone will grant you a guarantee, protect you from all things...it's a fallacy. Mother Nature's genetic game will outwit you EVERY time!!!

➡️This is not to say testing should not be done⬅️ but it's pure arrogance and foolishness that leads you to believe testing your dogs will keep you safe and your dogs safe from whatever Mother Nature chooses to send your way. Go ahead and test, but for centuries dogdom has existed and thrived without testing beyond "survival of the fittest" and every dog walking today is a descendent of AAAALL those millions of untested dogs...
Yet our dogs, our beloved breeds, are still here.. and what may or may not come their way is still and will always be a total crap shoot. That's our reality- THAT'S the truth of breeding!!! 👏🏻 You TRY to better yourself each time out, but you truly never know what you'll get!

At the end of the day, the one thing you CAN bank on is exactly as Nannette said in her post, "Does your stud meet the breed standard in SOUNDNESS and BREED TYPE?" and for that matter, DOES YOUR DAM?! THAT principle is so, so, SO important! Those standards exist for a reason! Adhere to them!!! We breed to BETTER the breed- not to rearrange it, mix it up and toss every good quality of our dogs out the window!!!

Secondly, the longevity of your dog's lineage, the health of a bloodline and the cause of death for each dog represented. Any breeder worth their salt has done extensive research into their bloodlines, they know the dogs and they SHOULD be able to tell you how long their dogs/ancestors lived and what they passed from. ➡️That kind of knowledge is something you'll NEVER get from a shelter pet⬅️ you'll only find that quality from purebred REPUTABLE Breeders who are invested in their breed and are dedicated in their love and commitment to their breed!!! It is a thousand times over the truth, in the statement that genetic testing is only a SMALL piece of the over-all breeding puzzle!!!

Thank you, Nannette, for putting this statement forward!!! This post holds SOOO much common sense, so much practical reasoning, the greatest understanding and so much TRUTH!!! I say, "Hear, Hear!" and VERY well said!!! 🙌🏻 copied from another well known page.

This is great advice, NEW PUPPY OWNERS…….
As puppies head to their new homes I wanted to touch base on a common issue that breeders come across with new owners.
Realistic Expectations
You see the breeders pictures and videos and The pups are all social. They are quiet in the pen. The breeder shows you videos of them being totally relaxed, happy, playful. All looks amazing and you bring your puppy home.
Then reality hits. The puppy may cry in the crate for the first few nights making you tired and agitated. The happy social puppy is refusing to greet the half dozen overly excited friends you invited over to see your new puppy. Or the overly excited playful children you have at home. The puppy refuses to walk on a leash. Many are wondering how did my perfect puppy turn into a nightmare.
So let’s discuss realistic expectations of when a puppy goes home. First of all the puppy has been in the breeders home since birth. They had their mother and often littermates. They had their routine, were taught expectations and were completely in their comfort zone.
Now suddenly they are taken to a totally new environment. Picture yourself being dropped into an unknown country, often in a different part of the world. You know only a few words of their language. Different trees, animals, smells, temperature and people. Now in the middle of this we are switching up your routine, decide to have a party with people you don't know, and ask you to do jobs you have no idea about. Overwhelming to say the least.
This is what every puppy goes through when going to their new home. Stress manifests in different forms. From not eating, reluctancy to play and greet people. Being apprehensive at the vet’s office or as strangers reach for them. Diarrhea, vomiting and depression can occur.
So what can you as a new owner do to help your little one acclimate?
- most puppies take 3-4 weeks to acclimate to their new home. Repeat after me THREE to FOUR WEEKS sometimes even Longer! Not a 1-2 days. I can’t stress this enough about how much time is needed for a dog or puppy to feel comfortable in their new home!
- limit guests during the first week. We understand you are excited to show off your new baby but they need time to adjust. Plan on waiting 1-2 weeks before inviting people over
- ask guest to sit on the ground and let the puppy approach them. No squealing and grabbing the puppy
- set up a good routine
- restrict the puppy to a small area of the house. This not only reduces them being overwhelmed but also allows you to watch them
- don’t expect a 8-13 week old puppy to walk on a leash. Instead work at home with a leash where they are comfortable. Let them drag the leash, use treats to encourage them to walk with you
- if your puppy is refusing to walk give them time. My first trips to town with puppies a walk around a small block took 1 1/2 hours. We only move when they initiate the movement as they need time to take in the different environment
- understand your puppy needs time to see you as family. Expecting an immediate bond is unrealistic
- train your puppy. This not only helps you to bond but the puppy to look to you for direction and input
-Children are also big stressors to tiny fragile puppies, please keep an eye on puppy at all times when around children.
- lastly be patient. Don’t declare “omg there’s something wrong with this dog”. Nothing occurs overnight. Outings should be planned at puppy speed. So while you might imagine a fun walk around the lake in reality your puppy might only be able to handle walking a short distance that day.
Most outings for me take a long time, as I am often just standing still as the puppy cautiously explores the new environment. Patience is key!
Remember if the puppy was wonderful at the breeder’s house but now is struggling, you as the owner, need to help the puppy adjust which takes time, patience and training. Have realistic expectations and give the puppy positive experiences. Each puppy is an individual, don’t compare your current puppy to past pets and judge their behavior based on how another dog handled things. Lastly, try to see thing’s from a puppy’s perspective and adjust situations accordingly.
