2 opportunities Board and/or lease a horse

1) Board your horse on our 2 acre pasture for summer/fall and trade some board for barn chores.
2) Lease a Curly Horse for summer at my barn in trade for some barn chores. The mare is wise, experienced, has her own English tack, and has done light riding due to owner health issue 24/25. Trail riding is really her thing. This would be a good situation for someone looking to get back into horses, or looking to learn about horsemanship, equine care, and gain experience before committing to purchasing a horse.

Location KGB & Fairview Loop, Wasilla, Arctic Curly Farm, a small private facility without horse drama.
This is 3.2 miles from Mountain Ridge Equestrian Center, and 17.5 miles to Palmer Fairgrounds.
Give me a call to discuss possibilities. 907-982-3330

Riding crooked in your saddle? I sure was after a serious trail ride accident, and my horse hated it. Laura Faber-Morris helped me ride balanced again and helped me understand how to help my horse's aches and pains from cooked riding. Gain practical skills you can use year-round to improve your equine relationship! Finish the session with a BEMER experience and happy horse!

Two private sessions are remaining in the Mat-Su on June 2 & 3. Laura can travel to you, or you can haul in.

When I Am An Old Horsewoman
I shall wear turquoise and diamonds,
And a straw hat that doesn’t suit me
And I shall spend my social security on
white wine and carrots,
And sit in my alleyway of my barn
And listen to my horses breathe.
will sneak out in the middle of a summer night
And ride the old bay gelding,
Across the moonstruck meadow
If my old bones will allow
And when people come to call, I will smile and nod
As I walk past the gardens to the barn
and show instead the flowers growing
inside stalls fresh-lined with straw.
I will shovel and sweat and wear hay in my hair
as if it were a jewel
And I will be an embarrassment to ALL
Who will not yet have found the peace in being free
to have a horse as a best friend
A friend who waits at midnight hour
With muzzle and nicker and patient eyes
For the kind of woman I will be
When I am old.

Great place to get a house cat or a barn cat. I got both from this group.

2024 is a wrap! This year we rescued over 570 cats!! Unfortunately it’s not even a dent in how many more need to be saved. We hope that we can rescue even more next year with your help! We can’t do it alone though. Here are the top things you can do to help us rescue even more cats in 2025!

1) Foster a cat!
It’s much easier than you would think. All you need is a spare room and a little love! We can’t take in more cats unless we have places to put them while they wait for adoption.

2) Adopt!
Never support breeders. Whether it’s from us, the shelter, or another rescue there are lots of cats who need forever homes! Now is the time to add another family member 🥰

3) Spay and Neuter your pets!
Yes… Even that stay cat that you are feeding. Right now cats are breeding faster then we can rescue them. Making sure your cat is fixed, especially our community cats will help the numbers go down greatly overtime (contact us if you need help or resources!)

4) Donate!
Unfortunately a lot of the cats we get need extensive medical care before they are adoptable. Even the healthy ones usually need at least something. All of our cats are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped (minimum $300 per cat). Pick.Click.Give, sign up for Fred Myers Community Rewards, donate through Venmo, any little bit helps! We also have our Amazon wishlist that helps provide our fosters with the supplies they need to continue to foster.

5) Share and interact with adoptable cat posts on social media!
Exposure on social media is very helpful for getting cats adopted. You never know, sharing a post of a cute cat might help them to come across the eyes of their next forever home!

We hope that everyone has a happy 2025!

Our Story

Family owned and operated business. Arctic Curly Farm began in Fairbanks in 1996 producing nearly 100 eggs per day. We added breeding and training Curly Horses in 1998 growing into agricultural production of hay and other livestock in Trapper Creek. Today we are located just outside the city of Wasilla and continue to breed and train Curly Horses. We continue to produce hay in Trapper Creek and enjoy chicken eggs.

In 2019 Arctic Curly Farm moved it’s primary operation to the Wasilla area expanding into the residential rental business. We offer fully furnished apartments on the farm with a view of the horses and chickens. A quiet and private setting to relax. We can ride from the property to local trails.
