Everyone had their first drive in the car to vet yesterday.
All of them passed their health checks with flying colours!
Heart rates, muscles, lungs, ears and eyes, the tightness in there hips are all perfect. Because momma is STILL letting them nurse, they are little ‘tanks’ - the vet couldn’t believe that she was still allowing them to do so! But it’s made all the difference in the world for those puppies. There are absolutely solid and ready now.

Only two are left now.

We moved out of the nursery yesterday and into our new large kennel. Just started our puppy mush too! Yummy! 😋It’s made with some Beechnut baby beef and chicken purée too!

Our mum eats Alaskan salmon with her dinner so we are getting the most optimum nutrition for our growing needs. 🐶🐾🐶🐾

Hello all!
March 7, 2023.

Spring has brought us a beautiful litter of full AKC ACDs and they are all here safe and sound.
3 females and 3 males.

Their markings are very symmetrical except for the one female that has a black patch on her shoulder.

Always be safe out there…

Are you aware of the Highway code changes. When you see a horse on a road, you should slow down to a maximum of 10 mph. Be patient, do not sound your horn or rev your engine. When safe to do so, pass slow and wide, allowing at least 2 metres of space.

Emergency protocol:

If you have a horse emergency, please leave a Voicemail. Or better yet, send a text message. Established clients generally know this as I go over that often.

If you are an establish client, I will do my best to be available. If you are not, I may still be able to see your horse. It depends on my schedule at the time. I love horses and I will try. But it is the responsibility of your regular Vet to see your emergency. Please discuss with the Vet you establish with if they see emergencies at all 🥹 (some do not) and what the protocol is to reach them.

Bottom line is I cannot help you if you don’t leave me a message. I cannot always pick up the phone, especially if it is an unknown number with an outa State area code, in middle of night, etc.

They say that if you love something, let it go but it comes back to you, that it’s meant to be yours.

Almost 13 years ago, I let this young filly leave with a woman who bought a second horse from me. That woman later turned out to be a miserable ugly person and sold her for a quick cheap buck and didn’t vet the new owner correctly. Originally she wasn’t fed well and had tendon and other leg issues because of the lack of protein. I learned bits and pieces over the years that she was living in the Pacific Northwest area and wasn’t always handled the best or taken care of the way she should have been. 😔

But in a strange twist of events, the most recent owner had an accident, traced us this summer and decided that she should give her back to me.

Thus began a series of interesting logistics and she was transported to Spokane earlier this month. Spent a fortnight there and then she and three other equines departed on Friday for the 2500 miles (3800km) trek back to her original home and birthplace.

We have two more days to get ready for her arrival. She’s coming home to her mum, her foalmate and ‘grandma’, on Wednesday. This will be an interesting reunion to watch. I believe that horses remember their homes and their horse friends / stall mates. Black Beauty anyone?

We didn’t really want another mouth to feed or mange this winter but yet, here we are. I can’t help but think that there is a deeper reason for her retun that we will see later on down this trail of life.
