Meet Lucy!

She was found New Year’s Eve cold and scared! Finder looked for a potential owner and went door to door as well as posting on Facebook groups and no one claimed this sweet girl.

• Breed guess: Husky/Lab mix
• Estimating 1.5-2 years
• Up to date on shots (1/6/24)
• Female Spayed (1/7/24)
• Heartworm NEGATIVE (1/6/24)
• Microchipped

Seems to be good with calmer dogs
Likes food and treats
Very gentle, sweet and Velcro

Meet Bandit!

He is AVAILABLE for adoption through Magnolia Mutts Rescue in Grenada!
• We are guessing he is a 1-2 year old hound mix.
• Neutered
• Up to date on vaccines
• Heartworm NEGATIVE
• Graduated from our Basic Obedience Program

Bandit came in as what I would consider “borderline feral”. He was terrified of everyone.
He wouldn’t let you touch him, and if you did he would cry, curl up in a ball and soak himself in p**p, p*e.

We took so much time letting Bandit get comfortable with us and the environment and let me say: this dog has come LEAPS and BOUNDS!
It actually makes me tear up thinking about how far he’s come!

He is letting us handle him!
He is still slow to approach us but not scared just unsure and lacking confidence.
We can now hold his collar, put leashes on him, he takes food though he prefers verbal praise.
We even cut his nails without any issues!
He is CRAZY smart and very easy to train.

He is still very nervous in the crate itself but once he comes out he loves to do the zoomies and go out in the fenced yard to play.
He LOVES toys!
He has shown no food or toy possessiveness.

BEST PLACEMENT:

• Bandit is currently in a foster home with other dogs and does fine HOWEVER he really needs a foster/foster-to-adopt where they can really work on him bonding with people over dogs.

• He would benefit from a calmer low key home- NO YOUNG CHILDREN

• He would benefit from a technique called “tethering”. This technique is used to encourage relaxation and self-regulation by limiting a dog's movement, helping them learn to settle down on their own. It is proven to be extremely successful in helping nervous/scared rescue dogs learn to bond and feel comfortable with a human.

• He will require a home with a fenced yard

Meet Chanel!
Chanel is a doodle mix and she is with us for our Advanced Obedience Program!

She will be available for ADOPTION through The Homeward Bound Project of MS once training and evaluations are completed.

• Chanel came in presenting behaviors such as fear reactivity (particularly towards men), overall high stress/anxiety.
• Chanel has been with us for only 3 days (on no medications) and we’re loving her! We haven’t seen those behaviors (as of yet), and Will has clearly proven the fear of men behavior wrong 😅 (he’s good at that).
• Chanel is extremely smart, clean in her kennel and LOVES other dogs!

We’re excited to watch her progress and help find her a future home!

It’s looking like we might be out of this by 4pm! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼 we still have power thank God and all the dogs are doing great!

Cora is here for our Advanced Obedience Program! Cora might be a little different looking, but she doesn’t let that stop her! And we’re adjusting our program to fit Cora’s needs and abilities!

This is Blaise! He graduated from our Advanced Obedience Program a couple months ago. His owner sent me these videos yesterday. Before coming to us, Blaise was with a trainer who used an e-collar to correct him into submission rather than teaching him…So when Blaise came to us for training we had to work hard on teaching Blaise what each command meant and then worked on building his confidence and trust when wearing the e-collar again! His owner has been working so hard with him! THIS is why we do what we do!

This boy deserved his own theme song for graduation! This is Rocco and he is a 10 month old Boerboel (South African Mastiff) and the first one I’ve ever met, let alone trained! He was with us for our Advanced Obedience Program and good on his owners for making sure their giant breed was well trained and socialized! Definitely adding Boerboels to my breeds to own list!

Does your dog act like this when people come to your door? In videos like this the reactions might come off as funny but when your dog bites someone and you’re charged with a lawsuit, or your dog bites someone and gets euthanized or runs out the door and gets hit by a car, it’s no longer funny. Don’t let it get to this point. Training your dog to redirect away from the door/doorbell/knock and focus on a different task such as “go to place” or “kennel” can save lives!
