Mystic sunrise or “Elsa” is a 4 year old 15.2h filly by tapwrit. She is being cosigned for 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ obo
Elsa’s is about as fitting as a name as we could have given her when she arrived. The “Ice Queen” herself walked off the trailer and into my barn. A little mare that was ready to take on anything and everything that stood in her way. I was hesitant about what I could do with her, as she was honestly quite the handful at first. She had traveled from gulfstream, to Kentucky, and within days of being there, took a trip to sc, and then up to me. Her feet were pretty long and flat, (as you can see by her angles, they will appreciate some changes by her new home) and she had her plates still on. Else was Body tight, and had a puncture wound that needed tending to after her long adventure, We took her shoes off and she got a trim, addressed her puncture wound, and did some body work on her as she was very body tight and seemed defensive and was definitely a bit “high strung”. After a week I turned her out and was pleasantly surprised to see her actually pretty sound but still a bit body “tight”/sore.
She was retired due to arthritis found in her knee, but personally after seeing her move around in her paddock and watching her go through this “let down” process the past few weeks, I do believe everything needed to “unfold”. We all know arthritis doesn’t “go away” so this is something that she will have forever and needs to be considered and she will need maintenance. I cannot tell you what her future limitations are, However, after starting her on some basic joint support, getting nightly turnout, and just being allowed to grow and be a young horse, things have “settled” in a short period of time. She isn’t what I would consider a “dead head” in the paddock, she plays and runs and will absolutely be rambunctious.
She has been such a pleasure to work with, she is quiet, incredibly willing, and LOVES attention. She never says “no” and tries to make friends with everyone she meets. Elsa NEVER turns down a meal, and despite me thinking she’d be queen bee out in the pasture, she is actually middle of the herd. She is very very brave, has 0 vices, and has actually had a few pleasure rides on her which were excellent. She is really well behaved, and someone who wants to put the effort in is going to get an OUTSTANDING mare.
She would also be such a great addition to a breeding program, I was admittedly hesitant at first with the demeanor she exhibited at first, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. She has been such a sweetheart to everyone she meets (horse or human). I think she just definitely wanted the track life behind her and is now showing who she really is.
She is still a bit footsore on the hard rocky ground, that is why her jog videos are on grass, she had no problem telling me she wasn’t jogging in the pebble concrete 😊
