I never thought this day would come with Aaron but he was spectacular at the packed Fright Fest at Six Flags last night. It sometimes takes boy dogs a little longer to mature and thankfully I allowed it to happen otherwise I would have let go of an absolute gem. Take a look at the focus and concentration this dog has is a crowd! There were probably 20,000 people there last night. Aaron is ready to be fully task trained for your disability. If you know anybody who needs a task trained service dog, please have them contact me and please share this post with your friends.
Marine Corps Vet goes from disabled by migraines to enabled and living life again thanks to a Service Dog Academy Medical Alert Dog training class. Keep an eye on our YouTube channel to see the full video.
Six Flags Halloween show for socialization of Dax. Fire, loud music, dancers crawling all over and even smoke. She did AMAZING. She really is going to be the best service dog for someone. If you know someone who needs a trained alert dog, Dax will be available for Christmas placement.
I started this business because I am you. Here I am asking myself at 4 am in the morning do I treat and stay up the rest of the morning shaking from the jittery effect of the albuterol or try to fall asleep while I can barely breathe. I chose… breathing.
I forgot how LOUD bleachers were. Going to a high school football game is not like attending a pro sport game. Kids here are allowed to run, scream and act a fool and it was such great exposure for Talia.
Fist movie in a theater since Covid. Can you guess which one it was?
Talia says, “Costco is SOOOOOO boring. No costumes, no light saber fights, no kiddos to play with. It’s enough to kill a baby puppy like me. Hrumph.”
After spending over 5 years socializing and training service dog candidates in Six Flags St. Louis I was denied access with two service labradoodle puppies in training. It was rather surprising given the security personnel, police and staff all at recognized me from years past. Missouri law was updated on August 28th to now cover dogs in training as service dogs. You can read the entirety of the new law with a Google search of 209.200 which includes the rephrasing of service dogs to be “a dog that is being or has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.” I will personally be pursuing a legal case against the park for their blatant disregard for Missouri law and will share what I learn in this process with all of you. I would encourage you to contact Six Flags and share how disappointed you are with their denial of access to a person with multiple disabilities trying to train dogs to help other disabled people.
It took a couple days of very slow introductions but it seems the puppies have figured out how to eat a frozen Kong! The Kongs are filled with plain kibble and topped off with Green Juju Just Greens Blend. Eventually the whole Kong will be filled with a wet frozen food but they are not old enough for that level of toy yet. Kongs help with anxiety and destructive boredom. We always try to have at least 1 for each dog in the freezer at all times just incase something happens and we need to crate them in an emergency.
Watch 7 month old labradoodle Aaron self-handicapping for his 5 labradoodle sisters while playing with them. He’s doing so amazing with these babies. The three chocolate puppies are still available for placement in pet or service dog homes.
Ps: It’s not “perfect” play because there is no role reversals but it’s pretty decent for the second session.
Yesterday we went back to the nursing home with the puppies. This is the result. The smiles on these ladies faces was just magical.
