BLM has confirmed my 1-hour appointment for the Cassopolis event on Friday, May 13th at 11:00AM. If there is anyone seriously interested in a TIP horse or otherwise, I may be picking up... am watching current IA.. there are options... but I likely want to leave my existing set up as is, so will dump a considerable amount of $$$$ into getting setup in new area (has existing shelter, just needs panels and will get 2 horses if I do this way). May is going to creep up soon... again if you have been waiting for an opportunity to get a TIP horse or looking for something that needs training off the IA please let me know in the next month (By end of march for sure, preferably sooner as IA ends in 2 weeks. thanks!

I think this is a very positive step towards protecting the horses from those with not so good intentions.
The Mustang Heritage Foundation TIP program is also a great deal, you don't get a check after a year or so... but you get to work with a horse and get to know it after it has been gentled before you adopt it, have less strict fencing requirements and you can progress faster with your training and goals together!

To enhance existing protections for adopted wild horses and b***os, we've just announced new changes to the Adoption Incentive Program, which offers financial incentives to adopt untrained animals from the BLM.

These important changes include:
➡ The BLM will now require compliance inspections of animals adopted under the Adoption Incentive Program to occur within six months of adoption, rather than twelve. Title eligibility still occurs at twelve months from adoption date.
➡ Title applications will have to be signed by a veterinarian or BLM-authorized officer for the adopter to receive the incentive payment.
➡ The incentive payment will now be made within 60 days after title date, rather than half at the time of adoption and half at the title date.
➡ The minimum adoption fee for animals adopted through the Adoption Incentive Program is also increasing from $25 to $125.

Public input continues to be important to the BLM. Moving forward, the BLM plans to host roundtable sessions with various stakeholders to consider non-cash incentives that could further benefit adopted animals.
