Dear Mass Animal Medical Center Family,
As our area navigates the COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that we are continuing our efforts to provide you with exceptional client service and patient care while also complying with Massachusetts and CDC guidelines.
The safety of our clients, patients, and team is of utmost importance.
As of late last night we had an employee test positive and we are closing until we can get our staff tested. We are following all protocols and recommendations by the CDC.

We hope to reopen on Wednesday.

We understand that telephone call communication and parking lot waiting periods can feel frustrating, and we thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding during this time.
We cannot wait until it is safe enough to resume normal hospital activity.
We miss you, our clients, very much!

Stay healthy!

Hi all! We just wanted to remind you about our current protocols surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as cases in the surrounding areas are on the rise.

Currently, we are only allowing staff and pets in the building. When you arrive for your appointment, please call us from the parking lot. A technician will collect information from you about your pet’s health and will collect payment information that will be used at the end of the visit. The technician will then come get your pet from you.

We ask that you meet us outside of your car with your pet. Please wear a face covering during all in-person interactions with our staff. All dogs must be leashed and all cats must be in a carrier for their own safety. Technicians will not be reaching into cars to retrieve your pet. We ask that you remain in the parking lot for the duration of your pet’s appointment. If you must leave the property please inform your technician or veterinarian.

After your pet’s initial exam, a doctor will call you to go over any exam findings and discuss any treatment recommendations. Please be available on the phone number that you give us at check-in. After your pet’s appointment is completed a technician will return your pet to you.

Food and medication pick-ups will be handled in a similar manner. We recommend calling ahead to ensure that your pet’s prescription or food is ready. When you arrive, call us again so that we can bring your items out to you.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and patience in the past months. We understand that these protocols may be frustrating but we’ve implemented them with the safety of our clients, our staff, and our patients in mind. ❤️🐶🐱❤️

This week is Vet Tech Appreciation Week! Did you know that in addition to assisting veterinarians during appointments, vet techs also take x-rays, collect lab samples, prep for surgery, monitor vital signs, and conduct dental cleanings? Be sure to give your technician an extra thank you this week!

**A message to all of our clients regarding COVID-19 procedural updates:

In light of the emerging information regarding COVID-19, Mass Animal Medical Center will be implementing new preventative measures to try to limit the transmission of the virus.

Starting tomorrow, Monday, March 16th, we will be conducting much of our business over the phone. We ask that when you arrive for your appointment you wait in your car and call us using your cellphone. One of our technicians will take a history from you over the phone and then will meet you at your car to bring your pet inside. Our doctors will do their physical exams and will then call you to discuss the findings of their exams and to receive verbal consent for any recommended procedures. All financial transactions will occur over the phone.

We recognize that this may be an inconvenience to some. However, the safety and health of our doctors, staff, patients, and clients is of utmost importance to us. We hope that by enacting these measures we can continue caring for your pets even throughout this public health crisis.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at 617-923-1700.

**What you need to know as pet owners:

Currently, multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations (CDC, OIE, WHO) are in agreement that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread between domestic pets and humans. However, as information regarding this disease is rapidly changing, it is recommended that anyone testing positive for COVID-19 or exhibiting symptoms of infection limit exposure to their pets. If possible, have another family member feed, walk, and play with your pet.
