Why yes, that is, in fact Thot and Spencer following my car back to the barn after a disappointing galavant at 1130pm, where they, in fact, did not find green grass at the neighbors! 🤣 Meanwhile, Cherokee was in the fence still BIG MAD like GUYS YOU FORGOT ME!

Surprise!! ⭐️

I was asked last Summer if I'd like to be interviewed by PBS as a Community Helpers Spotlight. 📢

It aired tonight and I was so surprised! Here's a little bit about me and how FAITH Riding Center got it's start. 🥰🐴

Forever thankful all of the opportunities this life has given me & all the hard work along the way. ❤️

Would you believe it if I told you those are both the same horse?

That's Thor - our biggest horse on the farm. He stands at 18.2hh weighing in around 2,000lbs, and he is pure gentle giant!

Thor came all the way from Oklahoma off a kill pen (the step before they get slaughtered). He was stuffed to the back pen without a number and no hope in sight. A man named Steve Kroll noticed him and took a chance. He brought him all the way to NY to a place called Richmond Ridge in Henderson.

Fast forward a bit - I was asked to check out a horse at Richmond's for a friend who had just lost their son's mare during foaling. I spotted Thor and the rest was history - he chose me to be his person. Mind you, I hadn't even built our barn yet! Thor came home with me the following Spring to a tarp shelter built along the willow trees to the left of our driveway. That May (2018) we broke ground on our big red barn you see when you visit the farm.

Those willows are still his favorite place to stand and will always hold a place in my heart, for that is where Thor first found his forever home. ❤️

This year (& every year!) I am especially thankful for all of you!

You accept our somewhat unconventional business model that allows my daughter to be with me and involved in lessons. You all have accepted her and have become part of our village - so THANK YOU!

Hey guys!

I absolutely love when people are interested and want to learn more about our facility.

However, it is located on private property and there is no trespassing allowed. I have had a few people drive all the way up to the barn and go into the barn when I am not home. This is not okay and I am asking that you please call or text me if you would like to go up and see our facility.

Thank you for your understanding!

Chilly weather and we are still at it! Please see warm gear update below!

I'm just in absolute awe!

What started as a dream to bring some spooky, family-friendly thrills to the area to help benefit our riding center has become so much more than I imagined. I looked at the line of 50+ people with tears in my eyes, it's just amazing to me how many people came out and supported us this year (around 350!!!).

I am forever thankful for my volunteers who put their game faces on and stand out in the cold to scare and support, without you there would be no Haunted Forest!

THANK YOU ALL!! 🥰🐴❤️

How It All Began

It all started in early 2009 with a teen-aged girl, a horse, and a dream.

I grew up around horses always knowing that somehow, someday I would find a way to make this passion into a meaningful career. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would find my path and that this wild dream would come true 9 years later at the age of 26.

When I was in high school my grandfather had a stroke which made him lose control over the right side of his body. He was always the active type, out puttering in his workshop and playing ball with us kids. When he had his stroke he was devastated and felt as if he lost hope. I stayed with him day in and day out and watched the life his therapists brought back into him. I knew then what my calling was in life, to become and Occupational Therapist (and no, I am not a job coach..more on that later!).

Now - how to combine horses and Occupational Therapy...? I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition with my Mom one night and watched them rebuild a therapeutic riding facility called Freedom Hills, located in Maine. I remember happy crying at the end of the episode because it was then I knew what I was destined to do for the rest of my life - to open a therapeutic riding facility in my community.
