This Wishlist Wednesday, we are asking for Purina One Puppy food since we brought 10 playful pups to the shelter last Friday. These puppies have gone into foster homes thanks to the generosity of so many volunteers but we will quickly need to replenish their food supplies. If you can help, we would be so grateful!

Last week we held our annual staff and volunteer holiday party. In lieu of our typical gift or cookie exchange this year, we decided to give back to the community that has supported our Renovation Campaign so generously this year. We chose to collect donations for the Gifts for Watertown Kids program, and we collected a $310 donation from our generous staff and volunteers!
We were given an opportunity by Modern Woodmen of America to nominate some special volunteers for their Hometown Hero award. Congratulations to shelter and foster volunteers, Nancy, Anne, and Robin! WHS would not have as great an impact on the lives of animals without these three women. Modern Woodmen representatives, Cassandra and Melissa, joined us at our party to make the presentation. Finally, we recognized our long-standing volunteer, Gillian, for a milestone 25 years of volunteer service at Watertown Humane Society. It was a joyful afternoon!

Boy it sure is getting cold out there but our wonderful adopters still made the trip to meet their new babies!
Henrietta, Oreo and Dahlia, Esmerelda, Madikita, Simba, Kobe, Acorn and Gourd, Monty and Buddy (Not picture) all went to their new homes this week! Congrats guys! 😍😍😍

Earlier today we shared a Facebook Live (check it out on our page if you haven't already!) of some exciting renovation updates. Here is a before/after of just some of our new clinic space! From a converted tiny closet in our old space, to a surgery room, seperate cat/dog recovery spaces, and an intake area, our staff will have much more ample space to effectively perform surgeries and other specialized surgeries. Below, you will see what we currently have for a community pet food pantry, something we offer completely free to our community in need to keep their pets in their homes. We are so excited for our new space where we will be able to offer more to those who need it.

Now that everyone has (hopefully) recovered from their Thanksgiving meals, we just wanted to say that we are very thankful to all of our adopters who came in and added a new furry friend to their families over the past two weeks. Chevy, Kermit, Treats, Albert, Spyro, Chip, Harris Teeter, Warren, Zuzu and Zoodles, Sunshine, Scruffles, Frankie, Jerry, Hank, Poppi, Jenga, Casper, and Cooper (Not pictured) Have all gone to their new homes and we couldnt be happier.

Meet Treats!

Treats is an 8 week old Husky mix puppy that came from Northern Wisconsin. He came to us with his 6 siblings and his mom, but he is finally old enough to find a home of his own. Treats is in a foster home so if you would like to meet him please apply at www.whsadopt.org/adopt

Help us fill another box of food for the High School food pantry! No child should go hungry so as a community, let us make sure that doesn't happen. This week, we will be open only on Tuesday and Wednesday so be sure to drop off your food donation and then pick out a few items for your pet! HUGE thanks to Blain's Farm & Fleet for the donation of pet coats!

Today is National Espresso Day and what would go best with your espresso than a little Amaretto! Now while we don't have any espresso at the shelter, we figured we could at least help with the Amaretto! This guy is an almost 5 month old kitten who came from a large colony of cats living at a bar. He is part of our Shy But Sweet Cat Club which means he has no adoption fee but does need a quiet and patient home to help bring out his true self. Our Shelter

The shelter in Watertown can be traced back to as early as the 1920s where two compassionate souls cared for homeless animals on their farm. Since that time, the Watertown Humane Society has been not only a beacon of hope for pets in this area, but also a sanctuary for all the people who love them.

Our shelter is so special...we have long term resident cats living out their lives in the warmth of our four walls. We have dogs that languished in the south find their second chance with our heartwarming communities. We have volunteers that have given their extra hours, their saturdays and their pockets for over 25 years. We welcome you to become a part of our shelter...
