The common flat-tailed gecko (Uroplatus fimbriatus) has over 300 teeth, the most of any living reptile. However, these are geckos that may reach total lengths of around 12" so their numerous tiny teeth are not a serious threat to anything other than their usual insect prey.

These nocturnal specialists are believed to be so sensitive to light (estimated at being 350 times more sensitive to light than human eyes) that they can see in color at night.

Several species of tarantulas are commonly kept under human care. The Mexican orangeknee tarantula (Brachypelma hamorii) is a very popular pet. Females of this species may live for up to 30 years. Male Mexican orangeknee tarantuals usually only live for about 5 years. The species is known for growing very slowly, and being late to mature. The species was formerly thought to be the same as the Mexican redknee tarantula (B. smithii), and may still be referred to by that same common name, but the Mexican orangeknee tarantula was recognized as a separate species in 1997. Taxonomy for this group of burrowing tarantulas has been, and continues to be the subject of considerable debate.

The species is listed as vulnerable, and while they have been bred and reared under human care, it is claimed that thousands of these tarantulas continue to be smuggled from their native range. If you are interested in keeping a Mexican orangeknee tarantula as a pet, ensure that you support responsible tarantula keeping by seeking out captive bred animals.

One of my favorite critters ever!!

Blue-tongue skinks are popular pet lizards for many good reasons. Among these is the fact that these lizards are often charismatic and intelligent, making intriguing and interactive pets. Research out of Macquarie University in Australia shows that these little lizards are ready to learn very quickly when they are born.

Article originally sourced from Macquarie University:
Baby Blue-Tongues are Born Smart

Australian research finds little lizards learn very quickly.

Young Australian eastern blue-tongue lizards (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides) are every bit as clever as adults, researchers have found.

Life is hard for baby blue-tongues. As soon as they are born, they are on their own, with neither parental support nor protection. Adults of the species can grow to 600 millimetres long and enjoy the benefits of thick scales and a powerful bite, but the young are much smaller and thus more vulnerable to predation.

And that means they have to box clever if they are to survive.

To establish just how smart baby blueys are, researchers Birgit Szabo and Martin Whiting from Australia’s Macquarie University, together with colleagues from the Australian National University, the University of New South Wales, and St Andrews University in Scotland, put wild-caught adult and juvenile lizards through a series of tasks designed to test their cognitive abilities.

A dozen adults, all over two years old, took part in the tests, along with 16 captive-born juveniles, all aged between 23 and 56 days.

“In all the tests, the young lizards performed every bit as well as the adults,” said Szabo. “This indicates that the young learn at adult levels from a very early age.”

The study, published in the journal Animal Behaviour (2019), is the first to directly compare adult and juvenile flexible learning in a reptile species.

This is a silkback bearded dragon. Being an animal that needs sun to survive, they live a painful life due to not having the scales needed to protect them from the sun. They often suffer from burns, shedding issues, and skin that dries out constantly. It’s not cute.

UPDATE: It has been brought to our attention that their lack of scales leads to dehydration faster than your average dragon. Their skin doesn't dry out, but they are always in some state of shed. Over-care, like lathering them in lotion or oil constantly, can lead to burns, skin thinning and infections.
