WE HAVE YOUR DOG!
Found on Fort Drum at the Remington Park Gazebo.
Breed: German Shepherd
Age: 10 monthish
He still had a leash attached to him. Poor dog did not want to leave the area, likely due to the available resources. Our friend Kevin waited for as long as he could. MP’s could not assist, so Tim went out and helped Kevin to get him.
We are unsure if he was abandoned or lost. He is overall underweight and undermuscled but not the worst we have seen.
Either way, when dogs get lost and people say they are friendly, 9 times out of 10, the lost dog is in complete flight. THIS is what flight looks like! They are straight up panicked and don’t know what is happening.
If you know whose dog this is, please contact us tomorrow at 315 277 2753
We will get him scanned for a microchip tomorrow. For the timebeing, he is safe with us.

Boarding dog Poseidon going on a morning walk. 😊
Boarding dog Poseidon is a cool little dog that loves to move so he went on an hour long walk this morning and worked on some leash manners alongside with it 😊
We have helped ownertrain a lot of Service Dogs over the years but honestly, I am done with owner trainers. We get requests on almost a daily basis and just from the inquiries I can say that 95% of the requests are trash!
- Resource Guarding
- Dog Aggression
- Defensiveness
- Health Issues with dogs
- Severe Injuries
If you truly need a Service Dog, you can pay us to find a dog for you.
Right now, we have the opportunity for a wonderful suitable Golden Puppy.
You need a Service Dog, we will find and train the dog but don’t come with an inquiry of training your resource guarding Cane Corso as a Psych Dog that does not want to be touched by people and then question us why your dog can’t be a Service Dog!
Enough already, you are not proficient enough to select a dog for Service Dog work. Let us professionals do our jobs properly.
If you are looking for Service Dog or a started dog, we will do it for you. Please, contact us at:

Bruno learning how to roll over for a Belly Rub. Bruno is working towards becoming Therapy Dog and is almost there.
One of the test items requires the dog to roll over and get a belly rub. He has to be loose and friendly. Clearly, that is not a problem for Bruno 😊

Welcome Briggs, our new Foster Dog from the Lewis County Humane Society. ❤️💪
Blaze is going home
Today was a bitter sweet day. We had Blaze for the past 9 months while both of his parents were deployed. Before that we had him for a month. Blaze is a 10 year old dog and a lot of you have seen him hang out around the shop.
Blaze finally went home and we couldn’t be happier for him. ❤️❤️❤️
Everyone is chilling and relaxed today.
Also, see Blaze in the background? His parents are finally back from deployment and he is getting to go home today. ❤️❤️❤️

This is what conditioning basic commands look like. It is basically the same as studying vocabulary when you are studying a language. Eevee is a Rock Star puppy though. Not every dog or puppy can be conditioned like this. The internal drive and motivation has to be there in order to work a puppy this way. They have to be willing to repeat an exercise over and over again. #dogtraining #puppy #watertownnny #fortdrum
Watch my 7 month old puppy work through his fear phase.
Today I took Champ along. Champ is an older, self assured dog and you can see how he gives the puppy confidence.
He is starting to investigate and even moves out front and goes ahead. With the strong winds, I figured a little extra help wouldn’t hurt.
Watch my 7 month old puppy working through a fear phase.
Today, we went out and about again, overall he has been doing a lot better but we still have instances where he gets worried. I was able to catch one on video and broke down the behaviors and what to actually look for.
Their body language can be so subtle that an untrained eye seldomly catches what is going on until they have a big meltdown on their hands.
Trigger
This is part of Triggers evaluation.
Prospect K9 likes him and is adopting him officially from the LewisCo HumaneSociety 501c3 to put him through their training program for him to either become a Police or Sport dog.
Good job, Trigger.
On a personal note, I love this dog. If I had the capacity and time, I would have adopted him myself. He is such a nice dog. Super social, extroverted and wants to work.
I am super happy that we were able to assist Triggers adoption and that he will be a able to spread his wings ❤️❤️❤️
Last night, when I took out my puppy, he was ready to go and play. He didn't think about the street sign, fire hydrant, showed no suspicion because of the darkness or noises coming from the little forest across the street.
He wanted to engage and play with me. Because of that, I decided to take him on our trip to Proformance K9 Pets. We go as often as we can because even trainers need their own trainers.
This is actually something to look out for, when choosing a trainer. Are they going to workshops? Training with others? Continuing to improve their skills? But I digress....
Anyhow, when we got there, our trainer asked us what we wanted to work on. I said that today, I didn't want to work on obedience. I wanted to simply open up the puppy and build confidence. And this is something I'm trying to tell our clients too. Sometimes, it's not about obedience at all. When you are trying to build engagement or confidence, obedience can be counter productive. You want to let loose, let them be a little crazy, let them play, have fun and enjoy the moment. You want to build value in yourself, a place, a situation etc.
In my puppies case, I knew, he'd likely be a little suspicious of our Trainer (coincidentally his name is also Tim) and I wanted to see what would happen if we opened him up in drive.
He actually didn't do as bad as I expected. He came in a little worried but didn't shut down. As soon as Tim started moving the flirt pole he went for it. He was a little frantic and worried at first, but worked through the stress.
When we brought him in for a second session, he was ready to go. He pulled Cheyenne through the door and there was no holding him back. That's exactly what you want to see. If he was two years old, and came in like this for the first time... that'd be a problem for a working dog. A 7 month old dog coming in like this for the first time. I'm not worried about that.
So for the next few weeks, safe exposure is the key in moving forward with him.
I love these two so much. What a fantastic pair. The joy and relationship between the two is visible.
Jett, a Dutch Shepherd Mix, had a rough start in life before he hit the jackpot and was adopted by his owners.
He went through a one month Day&Train a while back and is continuing to come for more training. The goal is a BH ☺️ which stands for Begleithunde Pruefung (Companion Dog Test) which is an IGP entry title. #caninecollegeny #sportdogs #fortdrum #watertownny #dogtrainingisfun
Check out Triggers leash skills. He has come a long way since we took him in as a foster dog from the LewisCo HumaneSociety 501c3. Trigger is a lot of dog. He would thrive as a Sport or Working dog. He will be evaluated as a potential Police Dog once we have a chance to travel to our friends at ProspectK9, which is about 6 hours from us. #caninecollegeny #lewiscountyhumanesociety #watertown #fortdrum #dogtraining #watertownny #workingdogs #sportdogs #nosework #detection

Body handling for any dog is important. However long coated dogs, (such as doodles) need extra attention and care to keep their coat matt free! Today Leo got some body handling and grooming training for his upcoming grooming appointment!
