I work with lots of first time owners but I do have a few basic requirements from homes, such as an app to go over general husbandry, good diet, a vet, and a safe wheel and cage set up are non negotiable. I request an application and video of your set up the first time I work with a new home. This is because I want my homes to be long term successful and the best I know how to set homes up for success is making sure they are making an informed decision and they have done their due diligence. Because the fact of the matter is, as great as gliders are for me and you, they may not be the best fit for every home, and it’s my job to make sure the home is happy and things are good, not to just get rid of joeys. That’s the difference in supporting responsible hobby breeders vs buying suggies from markets, shops, and bybs, they do not care about after the transaction, they don’t care if it’s a horrible fit for someone’s lifestyle or that the animal will be passed around to multiple homes and possibly meet a sad fate; all they care about is making a sale. So yes, I do have a routine app with the most basic of info.

Was just in my glider room saying good night to the suggies and it’s so dang cute seeing joeys out and about exploring and learning in the cage, and eating out their big kid food dish ☺️🥰 I love it! Happy thoughts to put me to sleep tonight. Adorable.

On that note, we got some really sweet babies looking for 🏠. Even thinking the three youngest could make a great trio too, they can be paired or go separately to homes with other glider(s). Ruby leus, cow eared mosaic, and platinum all hunting for their 🏠. All joeys are handled from their first day detached from mom (often times even before, when airing out) all pet males leave neutered and is included. On all major approved breeder lists. Transport available. Pm for info.

Ran out of staple tonight, didn’t have enough to give each cage full portions, so decided they could have a bit of a cheat night, some scrambled eggs, a dollop of yogurt, and a little extra veggies to supplement their hsg.

*Disclaimer* This is not something I do often as it would be way too much protein and fat, but cheat nights are ok to do occasionally if only to break up the monotony. Some owners choose to do cheat nights weekly, biweekly, or monthly. It’s totally up to you. Just remember to keep everything in moderation and that gliders thrive when fed appropriate staple diets that are adhered to.

Headed into the suggie room to clean some drop pans. Gonna work on getting some pics this weekend for the homes that are waiting for their new babies. Everyone is doing great 🥰. Our cow eared mosaic and her ruby leu brother are still looking for their 🏠 and we still have red eyed white girls too.

Enjoying my semi day off, before I go to go back to work on glider chores this weekend doing pans and cage wipes. Just wanted to share another idea for wall protection today 🙂

For those of us that don’t care for cage covers, we all like plastic, the extra tall shower curtains with 3m hooks work great, but alternatively, if you decide it’s time throw out your plastic, using packing paper taped on the walls works great as well. I change as needed easily, but surprisingly they lasted longer than expected. I’m just so sick of plastics, and trying to use more biodegradable products where I can. It certainly works in a pinch too.

Also if space is an issue and you need to pack cages a bit tighter, I highly recommend using corrugated cardboard for blinder dividers. This not only cuts down on spats between neighbors seeing each other but also protects from degloved tails and other tail injuries. Next time I redo mine, I’ll be making some modifications such as using magnets 🧲 instead of grommets and c-links. Excuse the dirty pans, it’s end of week so well soiled.

Pulling cage stacks out one by one to remove and clean wheels. Determined to get at least 1/2 of the wheels done. Then it’s back to cage wipes and pans again this weekend. I have a few tools I use to make my lifestyle a bit easier that I will share:

1) Robot vac for upkeep which is great for getting under cages (I bought a cheapie that stays in the glider room).

2) Shark vacmop is a tool I love and love even more that reusable pads and dustbins can be purchased from 3rd parties on Amazon. It is great for clean up under cages if you have hard floor, sucking up poo and debri, and can wipe it down at the same time. I use this as I pull each cage out.

3) Reusable zip ties are great for wheels and cage needs, especially for items you like to remove frequently for cleaning.

4) Mini shop vac for random jobs (I use on pan day, after I wad up the packing paper, what ever debris are left behind get sucked up with the vac, the pan is wiped and disinfected then gets clean paper)

Have been busy in the glider room, deep cleaning and reorganizing. Need to make updated name tags for our cages, and working to get toys and wheels cleaned next. I have so much to do, I fall behind on my bad days and then I’m stressing to get as much as I can done in my very few good days. Lots of toy supplies and toys to be sorted through in the shed, toys that need repairing, toys half started 😅 working on putting glider laundry away, trying to get back on top and organized. In the meantime we have sweet babies waiting to find their special humans and we will be here waiting for you❣️

Here’s our handsome little platinum boy! Apologies for the lighting, we’re having a little snow day so it’s kinda dark in my house this morning. We will definitely be getting some more pics of this guy real soon, as well as our others. We have some pretty red eyed white girls that are ready to rock and only need to find their homes!
