Shout out to our girl Carly!

Since I first met Carly several years ago for a lesson I have loved watching her grow from a student…to a horse owner…to a valuable member of our team here at Spencer’s Equestrian…to a member of our family…..all the while digging in and working hard to grow her knowledge and skills as a young horsewoman every opportunity she could find…..and this past weekend was yet another one of these occasions as she eagerly signed up for a clinic at Radnor Hunt Stables with Boyd Martin!

Now here’s where some of that hard work and willingness to learn really shines…..
As Carly has chosen to put the best interest of her personal horse first, as all great horsewomen should, she decided to scale back on the difficulty of the work asked of Starlite which means this level of jumping she just doesn’t ask her for anymore…..This brings us to Bug, the hard work and willingness to learn!
Bug is a new gelding we picked up as a project horse hoping that in time he could become one of our beloved lesson boys….now when we heard about this clinic we had only had Bug for a very short time and in fact had only put a couple rides on him. This left Carly and Bug with just over a month to dig in and get ready! And they did just that! So just shy of having Bug for 2 months Carly attended their first clinic!
It was a great day of work! Not all easy, a tough day of work actually, but a great day of growth! Carly came home with more tools in her tool bag ready to share with her students and Bug came home feeling even more confident in his new partner and job!
What a fun day!!

This morning we had a special visit from some very enthusiastic students from Mountain View Christian School, (Pre-K through 7th grade, and one homeschooler), in Williamsport.
We had a great time giving the kids a mini tour and then Starlite and Jesse helped us share some time in the saddle with them.
Thankful we got to share our love for horses with you all!

You’re buying injuries, mistakes, and revelations. You’re buying nights awake thinking about a horse or student I need to help more. You’re buying hours of hauling hay, mucking stalls and grooming, of carefully checking your horse over like It was my own. You’re paying for my further education, because i still take lessons as frequently as possible. You’re paying for my care, concern, over dinner conversation, and you inevitably become a central part of my life.
You can’t put a price on education, or personal development, or the bliss of finally being “with” a horse. Thank you for sharing with me, teaching me, and letting me teach you, while I put food on my table and hay in my barn with the most fulfilling job ever."🖤
