Catch Hannah Francis, Mick, and Pony Bill, teaching Hooves & Grooves at EQUIFUSION on October 5th! Hannah has spent 25 years immersed in the world of horses and 15 years on the dance floor. Now she weaves both into a unified practice that celebrates connection.
As a certified Liberty Horsemanship instructor, Hannah specializes in building authentic relationships with horses through invitation and choice, guiding equine partners without the use of force, or tack like halters and lead ropes. Her approach with horses is deeply influenced by her love of partner dancing. Hannah found Argentine tango and blues in college, then quickly fell for fusion dancing, drawn to its playful blend of styles, musicality, and the quality of listening required when you don’t know what your partner will offer next. Hannah’s teaching invites experimentation and curiosity. She encourages students to explore, observe, and discover what works for their unique partnerships—honoring the liberty of choice and the joy of connection.
Mick & Bill may literally have two left feet each, but they’re still talented dancers! Horses are born with natural instincts to step away from what approaches and step toward what moves away, much like a dance. This is how they flow together in a herd. During Hooves & Grooves, we dance at liberty, without tack, so the horses are free to choose whether to follow the leader’s request or add in their own variations, reminding us that true leadership is felt, not forced.
