🐾 Meet Andy! 🐾

Andy is a 7-year-old Pembroke Corgi with a big appetite for life (and snacks 🍖). He was diagnosed with B cell lymphoma almost a year ago and has been receiving treatment ever since. Despite the challenges, Andy is a fighter who lives for walks, playtime with his little sister Lily (also a corgi!), and, of course, his next meal. 🐕💖

His journey started when his family felt two small lumps on his chest and noticed he seemed to be losing weight. Thankfully, with the help of Dr. Goodman and our incredible team—Athena, Tiffany, Leigha, Normandy, and Emma—Andy began a treatment plan, including 5 months of chemotherapy. While the road has been stressful and overwhelming at times, his family has embraced the motto: "One day at a time."

Let's show Andy lots of love in the comments!

🐾🥜 Happy National Peanut Butter Day! 🥜🐾

Peanut butter is a favorite treat for many dogs! While it can be a fun and tasty snack, it’s important to know how to safely share this creamy delight with your furry friends. Here are some tips for pet parents:

✅ Peanut Butter Do's:
- Choose Natural, Unsweetened Options: Look for peanut butter with no added sugar, salt, or artificial ingredients. The best choices list just peanuts on the label.

- Moderation is Key: Peanut butter is high in fat and calories, so offer it as an occasional treat to avoid weight gain or upset stomachs.

🚫 Peanut Butter Don'ts:
- Avoid Xylitol: This sugar substitute, often found in “sugar-free” peanut butter, is highly toxic to pets and can cause life-threatening hypoglycemia or liver damage. Always check the label before sharing!

- Skip the Additives: Flavored peanut butters (like chocolate or cinnamon varieties) can contain ingredients that are harmful to pets.

🚨 When to Call Your Vet:
If your pet eats peanut butter containing xylitol or shows signs of an upset stomach (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy), contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic right away.

So go ahead and celebrate National Peanut Butter Day responsibly with your furry family—but always remember, safety first! 🐾❤️

Understanding Paralysis & IVDD

💡 Did you know sudden paralysis in pets can often be caused by a condition called Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)?

This condition involves a disc pressing on the spinal cord, leading to pain, weakness, or paralysis. Treatment often includes advanced diagnostics like MRIs and, sometimes, surgery to relieve spinal cord compression. In some cases, medical management is an option.

🐶 Signs to watch for:
- Dragging limbs
- Weakness
- Sudden difficulty walking

If your pet shows these signs, early intervention is key! 🐾
