Message from Owner: Andre flew outside at around 8:00 on February 19th. Please help us bring him , we're very worried because of how cold it is outside.

Description: Gray, white and yellow, orangey-red cheeks. His feet are a bit deformed as his previous owner didn't feed him well. He is human friendly, but can be anxious around strangers.

Is your perfect Valentine a shy girl with a little bit of sass? Then Basil might be the match you've been looking for! Basil was found as a stray so we don't know about her history but she's learning that humans aren't so scary and that fresh veggies are the best thing in the world. 🌶️🥦🫑

Quakers are restricted in Wisconsin and although they are not illegal to own as pets, there are rules to owning them and a permit required by the DNR. The permit is easy to obtain and CARE will help work with you to get the permit.

Let's talk about Quakers! Quakers - also known as monk parakeets - are small/medium parrots with big personalities. They are intelligent, emotional, feisty birds that make great companion parrots. They enjoy weaving complex designs, spending time with flock mates and humans, and... like Ms. Basil, eating! 🌶️🫑 In Wisconsin, Quakers are restricted and require an NR 40 license from the DNR to own but the licenses are easy to obtain and don't cost anything. It's a small price to pay to enjoy the companionship of a Quaker parrot. 💚 CARE currently has two Quakers - Kiwi and Basil - for adoption.
