Introducing Peaches: This sweet girl came in at half her body weight. She was originally 22 pounds in 2023 and in 2025 was 11.8. Since we took her in she has been on a high calorie puppy food and has gained a healthy amount of her weight back. Peaches has 2 more weeks to go before she can be adopted as we want to make sure her weight reaches 22 pounds. Full disclosure: Peaches also had terrible ear issues both in 2023 and still does. She may always have issues as they went untreated for years. Throughout all this she has been an absolute sweetheart and loves everyone she meets. She stands approximately 20" at shoulder height. Peaches lives with cats and 2 other dogs - both boxers.

This handsome man is Ollie! We know he's part Chihuahua, but not sure what else is mixed in 😜. He has longer legs and very expressive eyes. Ollie would do best in a low key household without a lot of dogs. He is a pretty chill dog so another easy going dog or older dog would be great! He also has lived with cats. Ollie takes longer to warm up to men but once he accepts you he's your buddy! If you're interested in finding out more about Ollie please message me!

*Update* Shaved down due to significant matting. Anna, the black female is not as emaciated as Artie. He has a lot of hair loss and needs to gain weight slowly (like Peaches did).
Anna is more outgoing and attention seeking then Artie, but they are both very sweet.
We have been asked to take 2 small, emaciated dogs. They came in together so we'd like to keep them together. They are 5 lbs each.
If you are able to foster this neutered male and spayed female we would be so grateful! Please message me asap!

Notice anything different?? Yes, we changed the name and are now a stand alone 501c3 rescue!
Long story, but I'll try and keep it short! Many years ago CARE started taking in small and senior dogs besides rescuing birds. When I started a couple years back I thought about separating the two but it just wasn't the right time.
I had been involved with other rescues but never to the degree that CARE allowed me to be.
Jump ahead to now - after dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's I can finally say we did it!

Today we said goodbye to one of our oldest hospice dogs. Lily was with us for almost a year and during that time always took the softest dog bed and was given the best snacks! She received more love in the last 11 months than she ever had prior to coming to us.
The last couple days she was not doing well and her fosters made the decision to let her run free.
May you still have the softest bed and the best snacks on the other side Lily!

Our latest sweet senior is Pearl. She's between 8 and 10, a Maltese mix, was just spayed and had her dental. She's not quite ready but will be very soon. She needs a grooming but more than likely a shave down to match her back end 😮 as she had to have a bunch of matts and flea dirt removed. She's been an absolute sweetheart for her foster family!

Buffy, Mama of the three puppies, will be having her spay and dental this week! She's very shy and not well socialized. However, once she trusts you she is your constant shadow! We will be looking for a very special person to adopt Buffy - and in this instance we will require a fenced in yard! She's a sweetheart 🥰.

This little cutie came through his neuter and dental like a champ! He only has two teeth left but that doesn't stop him from enjoying his food.

Through no fault of her own Molly will be coming back into rescue. She loves other dogs, loves to be outside, and has been using potty bells to signal when she wants to go outside. Molly would be best in a home with another small, young dog to keep her company and play with her! She currently weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces and is approximately 4 months old. Sweet little Yorkie already missing some teeth will unfortunately be having more removed 😕. He's very sweet giving kisses to Lynne and me! About 8 years old and 6.5 pounds. He'll be ready after his surgery!
