Welcome to GRRoW, Tucker! Tucker is thriving in his new home. He’s adapting well, enjoys car rides, and is getting used to the resident cats. Tucker is affectionate, loves attention, and is improving his leash training and house manners. He prefers sleeping on the floor next to his foster parents and is progressing with house training. Gus is thriving in his foster home. He's now enjoying 2.5-mile walks, is comfortable at home, and has mastered navigating the yard. Annie is making great progress in her foster home, overcoming her initial shyness. During Labor Day Weekend, she met new people and a toddler, showing some nervousness but allowing occasional petting from adults. Annie handled car rides and vet visits well, recovering quickly once home. She enjoys carrying items around, spending time in her backyard, and is very affectionate with her foster mom. Annie would benefit from a home with another dog to boost her confidence and is ready to find a loving forever family.

Cooper, a loving and energetic dog, has quickly settled into his foster home. Known for his slobbery kisses and playful nature, he's working on his manners and gets along well with kids and other dogs. He’s learning basic commands and prefers lounging on the couch to being crated.

Cooper has a special fondness for rubber ducks and enjoys snuggling before settling in for the night. After a recent wellness check, he's on allergy meds and will need to be neutered before adoption. Cooper is ready to find his forever home where his affectionate and playful personality will shine.

Two weeks after arriving at her forever home, Frannie, now Nala, a 4 1/2-year-old retired breeding dog, has made remarkable progress. Initially reserved and hesitant, she now joyfully uses the doggy door, plays with her "sister" Bali, and eagerly climbs the stairs to sleep in her favorite human’s room. Nala has learned commands like "come" and "sit" and responds well to her new name. She’s become a cherished member of the family, and they feel truly blessed to have her.

Kathy has been adopted by her foster family!
Thanks to the encouragement from the foster family’s two dogs, she gradually came out of her shell. Now, Kathy is thriving, playing energetically with her new companions and sporting a near-permanent smile. Tess just arrived at her foster home on August 28, 2024. She’s adjusting well, thanks to her gentle foster brother, Harvey. Tess is enjoying neighborhood walks and learning about leash walking. Her anxiety is decreasing, and she’s settling in nicely. Looking forward to her wellness exam next week!

Archie has settled in wonderfully with his foster family. He gets along great with the two teenage children and is friendly with the other two dogs in the household, even though they are smaller than him. Archie enjoys going on walks and does well on his leash. He is a loving and social dog who adores being around people, though he can sometimes forget how big he is!

Charlie - In Memory

On National Dog Day, many pet families celebrate the joy of having a canine companion, but as Forever Fosters, there's also the pain of knowing when it's time to say goodbye. In April 2023, a friend’s daughter brought home a 13-year-old goldendoodle named Charlie from a shelter, intending to give him a brief respite. Charlie, who was suffering from tumors, a cough, and weak hind legs, seemed to need more than just a temporary home. With the help of GRRoW, Charlie was adopted as a Forever Foster, and despite initial fears he had only months to live, he thrived for 16 months surrounded by love, toys, and his special canine friends, Bessie and Willow. Recently, Charlie's condition worsened, leading to the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully. Though deeply missed, his time with his loving family and GRRoW’s support was cherished.

Buddy is ready to find his forever home!

Buddy is a playful, energetic dog who loves snuggling, swimming, and fetch. He’s good with older kids but might accidentally knock over smaller ones. Buddy needs a patient owner to help him socialize with other dogs and manage his tendency to counter-surf. He enjoys car rides, leash walks, and needs plenty of exercise. A dog-savvy home will help him thrive and become a loyal companion.

Sammy joined his forever home on July 24th and quickly settled in. He’s a sweet, affectionate dog who loves being petted and follows us everywhere. Like our previous goldens, he’s obsessed with fetch and always has a ball nearby. Sammy interacts well with other dogs after an initial sniff, becoming quite relaxed around them. He even has a charming habit of backing up like he’s in reverse. We believe it was love at first sight for both us and Sammy.

Lily has found her forever home!

Adopting Lily, our 7-month-old Golden Retriever from GRRoW, has been a delight. Her playful and loving nature fills our days with joy. She enjoys chasing Pickleballs, playing in the sprinkler, and having fun with her cousin Greta. Lily is both curious and calm, making our decompression walks special and ending the day with cozy snuggles.

Welcome to GRRoW, Gus!

Gus arrived at his foster home on August 18th and is showing himself to be an exceptional Golden Retriever. Despite being blind from blastomycosis and having undergone eye removal surgery, Gus has adapted well. He quickly learned the layout of his foster home and is picking up new cues such as "door," "ramp," "stop," and "gate." Gus is highly intelligent, motivated by food, and enjoys training. He is gentle with other dogs, loves playtime, and walks well on a leash. Although he's still adjusting, Gus is making great progress and will continue to receive the care he needs until he’s ready for his forever home.

Gracie's surgery in early July was successful, but she had a setback two weeks later with urine leakage due to a new infection. She was treated with a strong antibiotic and medications for pain and nausea. After a month of treatment, her condition improved and the leakage has stopped. If all goes well at her next appointment, she will be scheduled for spay surgery and will be ready for adoption soon.

Sushi has found his forever home! Sushi (now Murphy) had a good first night exploring his new house! He loved going to the back sliding door 100 times to go play fetch and run in the backyard! He slept well with his new parents and was very anxious to see his human sisters in the morning!

Lanna, a sweet and mellow Golden Doodle, is gradually adjusting to her foster home. Although she remains a bit shy and sensitive to sudden noises, she is making good progress. Lanna explores the house comfortably, enjoys her meals, and sleeps next to her foster's bed. Outside, she is playful and curious, interacting with the resident dogs and showing interest in play.

Annie is settling in beautifully with her foster family, making notable strides in overcoming her initial shyness. She’s a loving cuddle bug who gets along well with the resident Goldens and is thriving after a bath and grooming. Her mornings start with a playful bone announcement, followed by a leisurely breakfast and a roll in the grass. Annie enjoys calm, two-mile walks, staying close despite being a bit skittish around cars and noises. She has adapted well to her new home, showing excellent indoor manners without counter surfing or accidents, and loves to snuggle up as a foot-warmer during TV time.
