Bailey has been a busy bee in her two and a half months at her forever home experiencing a heat cycle and spay surgery. Fully recovered, she’s resumed her activity schedule with off-leash hikes and joining the humans on a pet-friendly ski trail. Obedience classes start in a few weeks. She’s continuing to work on dialing down exuberance. She’s been a fun burst of positive energy and thrives on her 3-4 walks/runs per day.

Meet Guy, a beautiful boy who's making slow but steady strides toward his best life!

Guy came to GRRoW in October 2024, along with 10 other dogs, after being surrendered by an owner who had inherited them from a family member who passed away. This family member had been breeding the dogs, and it’s clear Guy is still adjusting to life outside of that environment. Guy is a gentle soul, slowly learning to trust and explore the world around him.

He loves kids, enjoys hanging out in the "jungle" of indoor plants🌿🪴 at his foster home, and has a special place in his heart for his favorite rooms in the house (he’s not excited about the upstairs or kitchen just yet). Guy has a bit of FOMO, though—always thinking people are talking about him when they say “good dog”—and he’s often right! 🐾

While Guy is sweet and affectionate, he does get easily spooked by noises and has some challenges, like being terrified of velcro and sometimes having trouble seeing in the dark. He loves being brushed and patrolling outdoor spaces to check all the corners and gates. Guy is learning a lot from his resident dog sibling, and he always wants to be part of the action.

Guy celebrated his 4th birthday in January, but his journey hasn’t been without struggles. When he arrived, he was treated for hookworms and a persistent ear infection, and he has since been neutered. We also suspected he had previous eyelid surgery to correct entropion (where his eyelid was turned inward). GRRoW took him to a veterinary eye specialist at the UW Vet Clinic where we found out that the structures of his eyes look great! Unfortunately, we discovered that there are some neurological concerns for Guy and they were able to bring in a neurologist to fully evaluate this. One side of his face is droopy, some of his reflexes are abnormal, and he’s having issues with his body awareness. We don’t know yet what may be causing these symptoms, and his veterinary team has advised GRRoW to pursue further testing. Guy is scheduled for an MRI of his brain and spinal tap to evaluate his cerebrospinal fluid at the UW Vet Clinic. This testing can help get to the bottom of his symptoms, but this will come at a significant cost. 💔

If you’d like to help support Guy’s journey and contribute toward his medical care, we’d be FURever grateful. Every little bit helps. We’re hopeful these tests will shed light on what’s going on and how we can help him feel his best.

Thank you for considering a donation to help this sweet boy live his best life.💛

Please help us welcome Luna to GRRoW! Luna is a sweet, affectionate dog who’s quickly bonded with her foster mom, earning the nickname “Velcro dog.” She’s potty trained, sleeps well at night, and knows basic commands. While she’s still shy, she’s forming a friendship with her foster companion and enjoys outdoor play. Luna prefers not to be crated and may have some mild resource guarding, but with training, she’s well on her way to being a loving companion.

Winter & Summer have found their forever home with a family who instantly fell in love with them. These two "regal" girls, with their gentle dispositions and impeccable manners, are sure to be pampered and treated like queens. Their new family can look forward to double the love, double the cuddles, and perhaps the need for a bigger couch! We'll be checking in with the family after everyone has had time to settle in and adjust to their new routines. Congratulations to Summer, Winter, and their wonderful new family!

Eve is settling in wonderfully and adjusting well to her new home. She’s a delight to walk on a leash and greets her owner each morning with tail wags, often carrying a ball or stuffed toy. Eve's bond with the older golden, Sydney, is growing, as Sydney encourages Eve to play by jumping in front of her and starting games of tag. The two of them have a great time running and rolling around in the fenced-in yard.

Honey (Forever Foster) is doing well despite ongoing health issues like bladder infections and IBD flare-ups. She's living her best life surrounded by love and adventure, thanks to her amazing foster family. Honey’s favorite things include daily neighborhood walks, spending time with her BFF Neighbor Barb, barking greetings, vet visits (because she loves seeing her clinic buddies), eating, ice cubes, rolling in grass or snow, tennis balls, and VSMT sessions. She also enjoys coffee drive-thrus if they come with treats. However, there are a few things she’s not fond of, like getting into the car, car rides, ear checks, hose sprays, and sharing her tennis balls with Bosco. Even though she faces some challenges, Honey remains cheerful, soaking up attention at events and enjoying her days to the fullest.

Guy recently attended his ophthalmology appointment at UW, where some additional health challenges were identified. The specialists discovered signs of potential neurological issues that require further investigation, including an MRI, to gain a clearer understanding of his condition.

While we await the next steps, Guy’s attentive foster family will continue to monitor him closely and provide him with all the care and support he needs. While we are deeply saddened by this news, we remain hopeful for answers and a path forward for sweet Guy. His resilience and loving spirit inspire us every day!

Our Story

Surrendered dogs are sometimes abandoned, mistreated or neglected, surrendered by a shelter, and sometimes a loving family that can simply no longer care for their golden. Taken in by GRRoW volunteers, every golden is provided with medical care if needed and placed in a foster home. Each dog is carefully evaluated in order to match it with a new family. Even as each dog is placed in a new home, we offer support to smooth the transition.
