Even when the days are long, let them help. After all, this is the next generation that we are teaching. We worked from sun up to sun down for 2 days, with it raining most of the 2nd day. I truly feel like the future of this ranch is in good hands.

We had our friends back with us to help wean cattle a few weeks ago. We're always grateful when they can come help. We're still trying to recover from the drought, but our weaning weights were right where we wanted them to be, considering the conditions.

I love when the girls come to me and I don’t have to spend an hr searching for them

We couldn’t ask for better mommas! These Dams are all Hargis bred and raised females . I definitely wouldn’t say the dams are in “great” shape, however, they did their job and now that the calves are pulled and weaned, we can concentrate on putting the weight back on and the cows overall composition

It’s weaning week! The rain has held us up the last 2 weekends, but I will never complain of the rain. We desperately needed it and will take whatever God sends us. Hopefully things go smoothly over the next few days!

I love the s***k of newborn calves. The way they jump, play, and explore. Our fall calves are still coming in and pretty soon they’ll get the turf all to themselves after we wean spring calves.

I’ve been showing calves sired to our heifer bull, but our other sires are producing some good offspring as well in the other pastures. Here’s a stout little bull with his sire being Frenzel 6721.

I know that I’ve been posting quite a bit on the cattle in this particular group, but I’m really impressed by the offspring of our young females x heifer bull ( Pablo), especially this year. We knew we needed to retain females with more bone, depth, and moderate leather to pair well with the bull we bought, and I definitely feel that in the past 2-3 yrs our younger herds have improved considerably. We’re retaining several heifers as usual at weaning in a couple of weeks for our replacement herd, but we will have heifers and bulls available for purchase as well! Get with us if you’re interested!

Just another 1 shaping up to look like his daddy. 1 of the top things I’ve noticed with this sire is-consistency.

I wish I could’ve gotten more than 1 photo of this guy. The other cattle thought it’d be cool to step in front of him,to get my attention after this photo though. This bull calf always catches my eye when I’m in the pasture. He’s docile, thick, polled, and he follows well, rather we’re pushing on horseback, feed truck, or on foot. His Dam is a Blau 441 daughter and a Foundation 712 granddaughter.

Having friends around, makes working a lot more fun. I’m so glad our friends were able to stay the weekend with us. We rode all day, gathered cattle to sort, dehorned a few, cooked up some good meals, and relaxed a little. Thank yall for a great weekend!

We had a nice visit from another new customer this past weekend to look at weaned, fall bulls. We think you will be happy with your purchase of this Pablo son. Being polled will allow easier maintenance on offspring and with the sires scan data, I know he will put the necessary growth to his calves. Thank you Seth and Jonetta Wright for your support!
