We had a make up class last night because of a previous weather cancelation, and 2 of the boys had a race with our Mini's Oreo and Arlo. So cute! π
Thank you so much to all the people who came out today for the sale - those who purchased tack, bought a raffle ticket, or attended the nutrition event or farm tours!! Thank you!!!! ππ
We have plenty of stuff left, so come on out tomorrow for some more shopping and farm tours!! ππ
With saddened hearts, on January 5th, we had to say goodbye to one of our mini, four-legged, family members, sweet Whisper. π
Whisper lived 18 beautiful and loved years. Everyone who met him, loved him, he was such a sweet and gentle boy.
Whisper was one of the first horses to join the Stable Hands family, when he was adopted from the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation on May 31, 2012. Whisper participated in many therapy classes and was Stable Hands' ambassador, going to events and fundraisers, and sharing his sweet charm with many visitors, for many years.
As of August of last year, Whisper's best friend, Harry Holzem, became his owner. Harry financially sponsored Whisper for years, physically cared for him daily and emotionally built an unbreakable bond.
We want to express our deepest sympathies to Harry and all of those affected by the deep hurt of losing Whisper.
Last post about Leon for this week, he is available for sponsorship by going to this link: π

Kathie, our on-site animal care lead, says: "Leon is our secret treasure at the farm!! Everyone loves coming to visit him! He is a ham, he is charming and he has a lot of opinions! He will start telling me it is time for breakfast at 6am, which will then start the neighbors dog, who then sets off the rooster down the road!
Leon is spunky and can hold his own! He will chase Tango around their paddock with his ball to entice him to play and then be sweet and gentle with a toddler who wants to give him a treat! He steals hearts with his sweet face and funny ways! He is completely spoiled π¬ I even hand feed him his dinner! He absolutely LOVES to be groomed and he even gives hugs! When I kneel on the ground to groom him, he will put both his feet on my legs and lean his head on my shoulder! π₯° He is the funniest, sweetest, and best looking miniature Jerusalem donkey at our farm, and the only one, but who's counting!?
