Wow! What a great turn out for the bike parade! Great way to kick off summer! Thank you to all who joined and those that had surprises for the kids! It was SO fun!

Couple of things to mention:
1. Our neighborhood garage sale organizer has decided to not partake in the sales this year. Completely and respectfully understand! That being said, if you’d like to have a garage sale and would like to coordinate with others to try and have it the same time feel free to post (I can share it for all to see)

2. There WILL be a neighborhood block party. It will be a lot different than last year but a lot of fun to be had. Stay tuned for more info.

We have a neighbor with a birthday coming up! Heres the info if you want to join...if you can't heres why you may see extra traffic! Happy birthday Katelyn!

Katelyn is turning 18 this Saturday (4/11). She is so bummed about all this Covid stuff during her senior year as well as her 18th birthday. I am arranging a birthday parade past our house on Cavin Dr on Saturday at 6 pm. Her friends are meeting in the Pepsi parking lot off 72nd at 5:50 to get folks together for this parade. If you want to join the parade great! Meet there. Otherwise, just asking for a little understanding at 6 pm when there may be a lot of traffic and noise through our neighborhood as cars drive by our house and yell happy birthday to respect social distancing. Thanks!

Rick & Kris Jahr captured this picture of the white robin flying around our neighborhood. Here’s some info as to why this robin is white. Great picture, Rick!

An interesting sign of spring.... friends from the Wausau area sent this photo inquiring about the unique coloring of this American robin.

This robin has a type of albinism, called partial leucism. It is a condition in which there is partial loss of pigmentation in an animal—which causes white, pale, or patchy coloration of the skin, hair, feathers, scales or cuticle, but not the eyes. Sometimes they look almost white, but still have dark eyes and feet, so they are not true albinos. Any bird can have this, have you seen any birds or mammals exhibiting this unique coloring? Very cool!

Good morning neighbors! I hope everyone is hanging in there ok, staying safe & healthy! If any of you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask!

I’ve been seeing posts on how neighborhoods are “coming together” (from their own homes of course) to help bring some sunshine during this difficult, unknown and scary time.

Here’s one for the kids and families out for walks. This one is called “Going on a Bear Hunt” place a teddy bear (or a toy, drawing/painting anything fun and kid friendly) in the window. The kids will enjoy searching for these while out for a walk.

Have chalk at home? Write on your driveway uplifting words, phrases, drawings etc. anything to help bring a smile to our wonderful community.

If you plan to enter your chili you may drop it off with your ladle at 11!

Good morning neighbors!

2 days away from our first Morgan Creek Chili Cook-Off!! Just so everyone knows, you do NOT have to bring a chili to come! You can come just to sample, vote & chat with your neighbors! However, if you do plan to bring a chili if you wouldn't mind messaging and letting us know that would help with setup/outlets etc. Hope to see you Saturday!

The first annual Morgan Creek chili cook-off is this Saturday! Have you sent in your rsvp? Do you have your recipes ready?! Dress warm as this will be outside/in the garage! And bring your beverages! Hope to see you! Message with any questions.

Don’t forget, tomorrow 5:00pm at city hall will be the public hearing for the property to the north. If you wish to speak, you must call and schedule ahead of time. Tomorrow’s hearing is for the rezoning (again) for the property, it won’t be anything huge nor do they have any new/revised plans. However, I still suggest you all go and show them you are there and that you care.

I will update as I hear more. We’ve got a long road ahead of us before anything is approved/finalized. They should have a new plan that includes a park for next months meeting. Once I get ahold of that I will post for all to see. Any questions feel free to message here or to me (Jamie Luebke)

Also, have you sent in your rsvp for the chili cook-off on the 29th? Get your recipes ready- remember, all chili’s are welcome!

Came across this today as I’m keeping a close eye on the agendas- Reminder there’s a public hearing coming up on Tuesday the 18th at 5:00pm city hall. I urge you all to go, show up, show them we care in hopes this new addition will benefit us and that they hear any and all concerns! I will update if I hear anything new!

There will be a public hearing for zone changes on the property to the north of us on February 18th, 5pm. They want it switched back to residential plus another portion for duplexes. Attached is the preliminary plans (best I could get) all lots to the east are single family, to the west are duplexes

There’s a meeting at 4:30 today (sorry short notice as we just found out) to discuss the proposed “parkland” dedications.

Heads up neighbors! A large coyote has been wondering into our neighborhood, it was spotted today on the woods and property lines behind Sarissa Dr. This one wasn’t afraid of the clapping and yelling from a neighbor, keep your pets and children close!
