Good morning everyone. Just a reminder that tomorrow is the day for our Candle Making Class here at Pemberley Farm. We still have spaces available if you are just learning about this class. Class will begin at 9:30 a.m. and go till about 12:30 p.m.. Pemberley Farm is located at 1745 Ben Road, Chipley, Florida. Ben Road turns East off Highway 77 just south of Wausau. There will be a Pemberley Farm sign at Highway 77 and along Bend Road to keep you going in the right direction.

In this class you will learn about several different ways to make candles. We will actually make dipped beeswax candles, and you will take one of those home. We will make other candles as well and generally have a good time creating. Price of the class is $25 per person and includes a notebook with much more than we will go over in class. We will have some discussion but the majority of this class will be very much Hands-On. As always Refreshments will be served.

If you have not already signed up but would like to come just comment below so that we make sure we have enough books and products and food on hand for everyone. And if you can't know until the last minute, come on anyway, we usually have extras on hand.

We are looking forward to seeing you, here on the Farm.

Have a blessed day.

Good morning everyone.

Yesterday we added to our menagerie of animals here on the farm. We brought home three Nigerian dwarf goats and a mini donkey. They are so adorable and so friendly and love to be petted and loved. The grandkids are over the moon having animals that actually won't shy away from being hugged and loved on.

The donkey's name is Spunky and he lives up to his name. LOL. The goats are Tilly, Liberty and Benny and they are little sweethearts.

In the coming days we will introduce each of them close up so you can truly see how adorable they are.

Hope everyone has a happy Saturday. This morning early we are going to Maphis Nursery and Tree Farm in Chipley. They will be cutting cane squeezing the juice out and cooking it down to syrup today. And of course we will have to bring some of that yummy syrup home with us. If you don't have plans this morning I encourage you to visit them. They are on Rattlebox Road just off Orange Hill Highway. And while you're there you could take home some of their beautiful fruit trees. Hope to see you there.

I was asked yesterday about a Class Schedule for next year. We had already created the schedule for next year but I had not intended to post it here quite yet, but because of a couple of requests have decided to at least take a picture of what I typed up. I will do a more in-depth post about each class in the future. But at least you get to see what they are and when they are.

I apologize that it is not a better picture, but I think you should be able to read it.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments below or message us here on our Farm Page.

There are still two more classes this year. On November 12th we will have our Candle Making Class and on December 10th, we will have the Gifts In A Jar / Make A Mix Class. There are still spaces available in both classes so be sure and sign up for a really good time.

Thank you all for following along on our journey. Blessings from Pemberley Farm.

Just a reminder that it's only a week and a half until our Candle Making Class. This Class is on Saturday, November 12th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Class will be held here at the Farm at 1745 Ben Road, Chipley Florida.

This class is very Hands-On . In this class we will hand dip beeswax candles as well as create decorative beeswax candles. We will also dabble a bit with pouring soy candles in different containers. In other words we're going to have a really good time playing with wax.

Price of the class is $25 per person. This will include a notebook that will have much more extensive information in it than we go over in class. The way I figure it, I can either talk a lot and go over everything, or we can play and have a good time. LOL. And as always Refreshments will be served. And I almost forgot, you will get to take home one of the candles that you make.

Please pre-register for this class if at all possible. Pre-registration is not mandatory but it helps us to make sure we have enough books, material and food for everyone attending. To pre-register, comment on this post, message us on our Farm page, or call or text 850-596-1452.

In addition to making candles for yourself, we thought November might be a good time to learn how to do something that you can create gifts for your family and friends.

For those of you that have never been here, Ben Road turns off Highway 77 just south of Wausau. There will be a sign at Highway 77 and at the curve on Ben Road. Just follow the signs. You won't be able to miss us when you arrive.

We are looking forward to seeing you, here on the Farm.

This year is flying by. Can't believe we are so near the end of the year.

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. But, every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. No matter the problems we have, we are still more blessed than most and should be thankful for those blessings always.

Good morning friends. Just a reminder to keep an eye on your mushroom logs if you came to the mushroom class or bought a log afterwards. If they have not already started fruiting they should begin anytime now. Ours have been fruiting for a couple of weeks. Don't forget to keep them watered.

If you are a member of our Friends Group, share your pictures.

If you missed the last mushroom class we will do it again in February so stay tuned for more information on that. Blessings from Pemberley Farm.

Good morning everyone. Well it's almost time for our next Class.

On Saturday, November 12th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. we will have a Class in Candle Making.

This is always a fun class. The picture shows hand dipped beeswax candles, which we will do, but we will also do poured candles and a few specialty items. We will also have a drawing and someone will win one of the specialty items we create during class.

We scheduled this class and the one in December (Gifts In A Jar) because they both would make nice handmade/homemade Christmas gifts for friends and family.

Price of the class is $25 per person which will include a notebook on candle making. You will also take home your hand dipped candle. And as always, we will have refreshments.

Class will be held at the Farm at 1745 Ben Road Chipley Florida. Ben Road turns East off Highway 77 just south of Wausau. There will be signs at Highway 77 and along Ben Road.

Please pre-register for the class if at all possible. To pre-register message us here on our Farm Page, comment on this post below, or call or text 850-596-1452. Pre-registration is not mandatory but helps us to make sure we have enough books, food, and material for you to work with.

Good morning everyone. Well here is the fire cider made up into a half gallon jar. It will sit in a dark place for 30 days and then be strained. We will then add some honey to it both for the health benefits of the honey and to make drinking this more palatable, LOL.

So what is fire cider and why in the world would you drink this concoction? There are opinions on both sides as to whether or not it is beneficial. Most of the articles that I read who said there was no evidence of it being beneficial are medical sites or pharmaceutical sites, go figure. Here's the thing, all of these ingredients, on their own, have benefits to your body. Just because something has not been tested does not mean that it is not beneficial for you.

Fire cider is antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral. It helps boost the immune system, and this time of year that is a good thing.

Let's look at some of the ingredients separately and you will see what I mean. Garlic is antimicrobial and immune boosting. Onion is antimicrobial and immune boosting. Horseradish is antimicrobial immune boosting and a decongestant. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory. Ginger is antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, digestive stimulant and a decongestant. Peppers are a circulatory stimulant and a decongestant. Citrus fruits are antioxidant and immune boosting, not to mention the vitamin C and apple cider vinegar supports digestion.

Now, I am not prescribing anything. I am just giving information. Your mileage may vary. However, you should do your own research.

In 30 days we will strain this up and let you know how it turned out.

If you have ever come to one of my classes, especially ones that have to do with herbs, you know that I truly believe that God put everything on this earth for us to live a healthy life and provided things that could help heal us. We have, unfortunately, wandered far from His original intent.

Good morning everyone. Getting ready to make some Fire Cider.

The onions and turmeric we grew here. Our lemons are not ripe yet and our jalapenos are already over. I don't grow horseradish because I don't like it but I will compromise for this. I've been growing turmeric for several years but not Ginger. That needs to be the next thing I tackle.

How many of you make Fire Cider? I have a couple of different recipes I'm probably going to combine parts of each. If you have a favorite recipe share it below.

I'll let you know how it turns out so stay tuned. Blessings from Pemberley Farm.

Okay guys, everyone who came to the Mushroom Class in February should be getting mushrooms now or very soon. These logs are some of the same ones that were cut at the same time as yours and they were inoculated right after that class.

As a matter of fact, we have already picked and eaten some. These started fruiting about a week ago. The fruiting should increase as time progresses.

So check your logs everyday and don't forget to water them.

Our family would like to thank all of you who came out to participate in the 15th annual Farm Tour sponsored by Millstone Institute. Since this was our first year, we were unsure of how it would turn out. There were more people than we imagined and we loved every minute of it.
We met lots of new friends and saw some old friends we hadn't seen in a while.

I would also like to thank the volunteers who came and spent their time, which is a precious commodity, helping us make this event a success. You guys are my heroes and I can never say thank you enough.

We did a raffle with a basket full of things that we make here on the Farm and we would like to congratulate Megan for winning that raffle.

Once again, thank you all, attendees and volunteers alike, for being a part of our journey. Blessings from Pemberley Farm.

Getting some of the tables and chairs cleaned up in preparation for the Farm Tour on Saturday and Sunday. We are so pleased that Penello's will be here with their Food Truck. We want you to be able to sit and enjoy your lunch in the shade while taking in the Farm Experience.

I will say, even if you don't want to come and Tour the Farm, you should at least come by and have lunch with Penello's. You'll be glad you did.

Good morning everyone! Are you loving this cool weather? As you can see, the girls are helping Granddaddy feed the cows and the horse, but of course it's not all work, you have to play as well. And of course the barrel horse was not quite enough for Amelia, she got to sit on Princess while she ate her breakfast.

These girls love the Farm Life. It is so important that our kids, even if they don't live on a farm, get to experience sunshine and dirt and the good things that come with Farm Life.

Which brings us to the reminder for the Farm Tour happening here and across Northwest Florida and South Georgia this coming weekend. Pemberley Farm is honored to be a part of this tour this year for the first time.

So come and bring your kids and let them pet Princess and the baby goat and the baby calf and the bunny rabbits and the chickens and watch the ducks swim on the pond and even fish in the pond. It's supposed to be a cool sunny day which will be perfect! When they are finished petting and loving on the animals there will be plenty of games for the kids to play and a hay ride around the Farm.

We haven't forgotten about the adults but this post is about the kids. So bring them out and let them have a good time in the sunshine.

Pemberley Farm is located at 1745 Ben Road, Chipley, Florida. Ben Road turns East off Highway 77 just south of Wausau. Our Farm will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday October 15th and 16th. There will be signs at Highway 77 and along Ben Road to guide you to our Farm. And you won't be able to miss us once you arrive!

This is a FREE EVENT. Pemberley Farm will have a tent setup with the items that we offer for sale from our Farm. We will also have Penello's Food Truck here with yummy food at a reasonable price.

We are looking forward to seeing you, here on the Farm.

Continuing to get ready for the Farm Tour on October 15th and 16th. We put the barrel horse back up, and of course the girls had to try it out. This was a huge hit in May at our Spring Fling. And of course we'll have a lot more for the kids to do. But we haven't left out the adults either. We will have displays and demonstrations as well as a hayride for everyone.

Don't forget to put us on your schedule.

The Farm will be open to the public both days from 9:00 to 3:00. We are located at 1745 Ben Road Chipley Florida.

Stay tuned for a more in-depth post on what is going on at Pemberley Farm.

Everyone is busy getting ready for the 15th annual Farm Tour on October 15th and 16th.

The pictures below are a few of the things we had going on during our Spring Fling in May. We have added new displays and demonstrations for this Farm Tour Event and are excited for you to come and participate.

Just a sneak peek into a couple of the things we have added. There will be a table set up with information about our Bread Baking Class as well as a Hands-On demonstration that you can participate in. Another one of the added displays and demonstrations will be Cheese, Yogurt and Butter Making. Again, we will have information about that class but we will also let you participate in making butter. We will also have some yogurt in the making and some we have already made for you to taste test if you would like.

And we can't forget the kids. There will be plenty for them to do; games, fishing, and a hay ride for everyone.

So come join the fun and learn while you're at it. Also don't forget Penello's will be here with their food truck. So after you have worked up an appetite looking around the Farm and participating in the demonstrations, see them for a great lunch.

Pemberley Farm is located at 1745 Ben Road, Chipley Florida. Ben Road turns East off Highway 77 just south of Wausau.

Our Farm will be open to you from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. both days.

Just a reminder, only 2 weeks until the Farm Tour! October 15th and 16th. Our Farm will be open to the public on these days from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We are excited that Penello's Food Truck will be here both days serving their wonderful food. Their menu looks amazing and their prices are reasonable.

So join us at Pemberley Farm and ride the hayride, let the kids fish or play games, watch demonstrations for the moms and dads, and after you have worked up an appetite, go have a great lunch from Penello's. They will be parked in the shade and in front of their food truck will be tables and chairs so you can comfortably eat your lunch.

It's going to be a fun two days.

We loved it when the organizers of the Farm Tour put our own little Amelia holding one of her chickens on this ad. Oh yeah, Ashleigh's in there too LOL.

We are excited about this two day event at our Farm. However, even though our family will be here in force, we still could use a few more volunteers to man the different stations that we will have set up for people to enjoy. If you are interested in being a volunteer either on Saturday and Sunday or just one of those days please comment on this post.

We will supply lunch and snacks and water for the volunteers.

We appreciate all of you so much for following along with us on this journey to sustainability. Events like this is just one way that we can share knowledge of the old ways. Blessings from Pemberley Farm.

Our Story

Pemberley Farm is a 35 acre family farm/homestead in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. We have been in this location for 15 years, but before that we have always gardened and had farm animals of all descriptions. Our goal is to raise as much of the food our family eats as possible. That includes fruit, veggies, eggs, and all types of meat. Currently our animals are horses, goats, rabbits, chickens and one “guard goose”. In the spring we will add pigs and sometime soon we will add a cow or two. Also coming soon are turkeys and Kahki Campbell ducks and maybe more geese. We have fruit trees that have been in place for years but are always either adding something new or more of what we already have. As well as the standard annual vegetable garden we are moving toward more perennial beds of vegetables, herbs and of course fruit. When we have excess fruit, vegetables, eggs, or animals, we offer them for sale. In the near future , most of these will be available all the time.
