I’m working on cropping the pictures I took of the available does. The rain forced us to move inside to take the pictures, with these boys gleefully photobombing in the background. Between the rain and nosy noses behind them, the girls weren’t too interested in standing for pictures. 🤦‍♀️

I’m going to start posting does that are UFD here on my farm page. After a day or so I will share the post to different fb groups.

I’m going to start with Nubian doe kids (of which at the moment I only have two available, a third may become available at a later date), then Nubian dry yearlings (there will be two), and lastly will post a pair of Nubian milkers (a 3yr old 2F and a 2yr old FF).

Other than one Lamancha buck kid that is still available, we likely won’t have any other Lamanchas available this year.

UFD: 2 purebred Nubian doe kids
One has a pink nose, the other’s is black.

Located in Wauseon, Ohio.

Born 2/21/2025
Out of 514*AA Pokey’s Peggy, by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike.

Dam pictured with about a 10 hour fill, she was not thrilled about her regular milking routine being interrupted for pictures. She just milked 7.3 # on our first milk test of the year.

Doe kids have been disbudded, tattooed, and have received Bo-Se and two doses of c/d&t.
I am keeping their dam and sire, plus have a yearling maternal half sister, so decided to make this pair available as I can (and will) repeat the breeding.

Whole herd tested CAE negative at the end of 2024.

Pending pick up

Purebred Nubian buck kid seeking new home, currently located in Wauseon, Ohio.
Born 2/20/25
I wasn’t going to offer a Nubian buck kid, but this handsome lightly roaned black buck kid just keeps catching my eye and his dam is one of my favorites and best Nubian milker.
He is out of 514*AA Miss Kitty, by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike.
First picture of the dam is from last summer, the two unshaved udder pictures are from last night.

Devon did very well in the show ring last year, and we’re looking forward to getting her back out again.

Aren’t experimentals just the cutest?!?

This adorable little girl and her brother were born yesterday to Mayday Amethyst Heart and Urban Acres GG Magic Mike. Doe kid is retained, buck kid is spoken for.

I’m hoping to get around to giving the does a bit of a milking trim sometime this week, with udder pics to follow.

The Nubian portion of the kidding season came to an end last Friday night with triplets for 514*AA Pokey’s Peggy (1B, 2D) by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike, and a monster single buck kid for 514*AA ‘Merican Cool (Meri) by State Line TB Royal Hawthorn.

I’m going to give the does a week or so to settle into their lactations before making final decisions as to who’s staying and who’s going. Available does will be posted here on the farm page before anywhere else.

Another kid??!??…..Nope, just a cat. 🤦‍♀️the barn cats are good for at least a handful of false alarms every year😂

Always nice to wake up and check the cameras to see three freshly squeezed out kids up and moving around. Three buck kids for Missy, all spoken for.

Also the first time in awhile that I think I’ve seen both members of the security department in the barn at the same time and on break. 😂

Today’s additions to the farm, doe/buck twins out of one of the first fresheners, 514*AA Pokey’s Smoky Peach, by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike. Peach was the last doe kid out of our old herd matriarch Pokey and herdsire Foxwood Sequin-Jock Gunsmoke.

Two down, three Nubian does left to kid. Once the Nubians have all kidded decisions will be made as to who will be retained and who will be available. Tentatively we will have two milkers available, and are only planning on retaining two doe kids this year.

First kids of 2025 are here!

Two bucks (spoken for) and a doe kid (currently being retained). The brown buck kid weighs 7.6 #, the belted buck kid 6.7 #, and the blue paint doe kid 4.8 #. Miss Thing had an easy and quick textbook delivery. 🙏

It’s early, the kids have just started unfolding but we’re already very happy with the first kids out of the new herdsire we brought home about a year ago, Urban Acres GG Magic Mike.

It feels so weird being almost to the end of January and not having any kids on the ground yet! Usually my goal is to be done kidding by now, but had tried something different for this year. The majority of the does are due mid- to end of February, with two unplanned stragglers due in April.
So in the meantime thought I’d share a pic of my guard dog’s guardian. 😂

Received some great news the other day to end the year with- Foxy and Mooney are bred! They should be due mid-April.

We expect our kidding season to start mid-February, which is going to be here before we know it. Preparations have already started with getting the barn closed up a bit more and moving the does around into different pens.

Annual CAE test results for our breeding does, always a relief to see that column of negatives.

Note to self, it was a struggle to find Peggy and Amy’s veins and took multiple attempts. I’ve noticed in the past that the more attempts/pokes it takes, the more flustered and upset the goat gets, tends to result in a higher result than those that I manage to get on the first attempt.

Well, the plan had been to breed all of the does at the same time for February kids but like usual, the goats seem to have had different ideas.
Most of the Nubian does (Missy, Peggy, Thing, and Peaches) and our token recorded grade doe (Amy) were bred to our Nubian herdsire Urban Acres GG Magic Mike.
The remaining Nubian doe (Meri) was bred to State Line TB Royal Hawthorn.
One of our Lamancha does, Jen-Mae-Ka Kids Devon, is bred to one of our Lamancha herdsire Budderballs HUO Onyx.
The remaining two Lamancha does, Foxy and Mooney, had been in with our other Lamancha herdsire but… life had other plans. Currently making decisions as to what their backup breeding plans will be.
A more detailed breeding list to be posted soon.

lol, Reddington looks very pleased with himself.

Planned pedigree below for the first breeding of the season.

Once I get a chance to put together a spreadsheet of all of our breedings I’ll start taking names for an interested waiting list.

The other doe being bred to him is Heaven Sent. FF Mystery.
