Always a relief to receive these results

The results are for our two senior herdsires and 2/3 of our breeding age does. The three remaining does (and likely jr herdsires and this year’s retained doe kids) will be done along with the next round of pregnancy testing.

Blue roan Nubian doe kid possibly available in Wauseon, Ohio
The requested bail to spring her from my keeper is $🖐️oo.

9/28 bail reduced to 450. Possible delivery to NAILE, would be available for pick up at conclusion of the show

Registered name: Mayday Magic Miss Tootsie

Born Feb 18th as one of triplets, out of 514*AA Miss Thing by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike, she has been one of the doe kids in the keeper pen.
My problem is that there are currently six doe kids in the keeper pen, which eventually means six FF’s, which is more than I care to deal with. So, in an effort to keep numbers manageable I am open to her finding a new home. I’m not going to be heartbroken if she stays though.

Her planned pedigree is attached; I’m planning to submit her registration yet this week. Rear udder picture is of her dam prior to kidding, other pictures are from about two months after she kidded.

Whole herd tested CAE negative at the end of 2024. She is up to date on c/d&t.
Located in Wauseon, Ohio.

The next round of introductions is for our two retained Nubian doe kids, both sired by Urban Acres GG Magic Mike. The blue roan doe kid is out of 514*AA Miss Thing, and the black spotted doe kid is out of 514*AA Pokey’s Smoky Peach.
Unfortunately I didn’t get these two out to any shows, the Nubians have been kinda taking a backseat to R’s Lamanchas, but I look forward to showing them as dry yearlings next year. Their quick photo shoot was about the first time they’ve been worked with and the fact that they weren’t impressed about being on a collar shows. They are friendly at least thankfully due to having been bottle babies.

eta: In an effort to keep overall numbers manageable I may be open to parting with the blue roan doe kid.

Since they’re only a couple weeks out from their first work assignments, now seems like a good time to introduce our new additions to our jr herdsire pen.
Neither were exactly planned purchases, but I’ve long admired both of their dams and when I saw they were available I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

First is our new jr Lamancha herdsire, STREAMSOFMERCY NON DUCOR DUCO (affectionately known as Duck in the barn).

Second is Bart, registered name AUTUMN GLORY BLAZIN ROCK RIDGE. He’s got a little while until he moves up in pay grade to Sheriff, but in the meantime his sleek and chunky self is just waiting to prove himself to the does.

In the background are our two retained buck kids, introductions to come.

Super proud of how two of our Mayday wethers placed today in the Jr fair dairy goat show at the Fulton County Fair!

Dean was first place in the 66-72 # dairy wether class with his Nubian/Lamancha cross wether.

Grace was first place in the 84-93 # dairy wether class with her Nubian wether, and went on to win Grand Champion Overall Dairy Wether!

Congratulations to them both for their hard work on getting these boys to this point.

I believe that this makes the third year in a row that we’ve bred the grand or reserve grand dairy market wethers at the Fulton County Fair. Actually, last year both the grand and reserve were from our farm and shown by Grace and Dean.

Both wethers are sired by our current senior herdsire, Urban Acres GG Magic Mike.

Ugh….bucks in August🙃

I’d tried to get an updated picture or two of our Sr Nubian herdsire, Urban Acres GG Magic Mike [Urban Acres TS Gi**lo x Urban Acres RB Dance Party -side note, Dance Party is a paternal sister to Big_Hoofhearted RB Luna (who needs no introduction)], before moving him into the breeding pen and definitely before bringing any girls to the boys’ side of the farm.
Yeah, nope. He still knew what the upcoming plans were.
Literally over a hundred pictures snapped, and even short video taken to maybe get a screenshot from, and these were the five best pictures that I ended up with. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️😂 Between him not wanting to keep his feet where they were placed, my assistant’s photography skills, and him having a case of rut-rump…. Ugh. I guess at least he made sure to show off his equipment?🤷‍♀️😂
I think the fourth picture comes from him talking to our Morgan mare a little too much. 😂

I do not have pictures of his dam or sire, but I believe they can be found on Urban Acres fb page or website. I will try to add some candid pictures of his daughters that I’ve retained shortly.

While not the most photogenic buck I’ve owned, he is one of the sweetest. After taking these pictures I’d put him into a different pen and went about trying to remember how to strap him into the marking harness. That horse sized good boy stood, not tied or otherwise held, while I fiddled around with buckles and straps. And then did it again when I’d realized I’d not put it on correctly. (One year I’ll remember to label the dang thing as to front and back.) He also gave us some lovely kids this year and I’m looking forward to seeing his next crop. Unfortunately I also have to keep numbers manageable.

Good news is that he marked up three of the does in about three days so plans are still on track for him becoming available for pick up at the end of September.

Located in Wauseon, Ohio (NW corner)
Herd tested CAE negative at the end of last year, and he has tested negative for G6s.
SOLD
He does not have to go, I just don’t have a need for as many bucks as I have given that I’m trying to trim back my herd.

Please send all inquiries to the farm page.

Yesterday was the start of breeding season here (which made for a fun day today of me trying to figure out if I’d missed scrubbing a spot on my hands/arms, if my clean clothes somehow touched yesterday’s dirty clothes, or if it was all in my head - but I kept thinking I could still smell buck. lol I’m sure my coworkers were thinking I’d missed a dose of medication, seeing as how I kept sniffing my hands and shirt).

Our Sr Nubian herdsire, Urban Acres GG Magic Mike [Urban Acres TS Gi**lo x Urban Acres RB Dance Party], was put in with:
SG 514*AA ME Moosey 3*M
514*AA Miss Kitty
514*AA ‘Merican Cool
Mayday Petunia

Our Sr Lamancha herdsire, HSH AL Duke (Chip) [Mint*Leaf HPMD Auburns Legacy x Mint*Leaf Lake Effect], was put in with:
Jen-Mae-Ka Kids Devon
Mayday Fast as Fluff
Mayday Mystery Sprite

The three does R is taking to the county fair (Heaven Sent FF Mystery (Foxy), 514*AA Pokey’s Peggy, and Mayday Mystery Moonstone) are tentatively scheduled for October dates with our Jr herdsires.

Message the farm page if interested in any of the breedings. I’m not going to take reservations but will keep a wait list and contact those on the list regarding kids as they become available (before posting them to the general public).

I haven’t posted much on this year’s milk disposal crew, but R’s bacon seeds have been growing well. With fair coming up it was time to break out the weight tape again to see where they’re at.
After I noticed I was holding a piece of Fulton County memorabilia, I almost didn’t want to wrap it around the pigs. 😂iykyk
