Ugh….bucks in August🙃
I’d tried to get an updated picture or two of our Sr Nubian herdsire, Urban Acres GG Magic Mike [Urban Acres TS Gi**lo x Urban Acres RB Dance Party -side note, Dance Party is a paternal sister to Big_Hoofhearted RB Luna (who needs no introduction)], before moving him into the breeding pen and definitely before bringing any girls to the boys’ side of the farm.
Yeah, nope. He still knew what the upcoming plans were.
Literally over a hundred pictures snapped, and even short video taken to maybe get a screenshot from, and these were the five best pictures that I ended up with. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😂 Between him not wanting to keep his feet where they were placed, my assistant’s photography skills, and him having a case of rut-rump…. Ugh. I guess at least he made sure to show off his equipment?🤷♀️😂
I think the fourth picture comes from him talking to our Morgan mare a little too much. 😂
I do not have pictures of his dam or sire, but I believe they can be found on Urban Acres fb page or website. I will try to add some candid pictures of his daughters that I’ve retained shortly.
While not the most photogenic buck I’ve owned, he is one of the sweetest. After taking these pictures I’d put him into a different pen and went about trying to remember how to strap him into the marking harness. That horse sized good boy stood, not tied or otherwise held, while I fiddled around with buckles and straps. And then did it again when I’d realized I’d not put it on correctly. (One year I’ll remember to label the dang thing as to front and back.) He also gave us some lovely kids this year and I’m looking forward to seeing his next crop. Unfortunately I also have to keep numbers manageable.
Good news is that he marked up three of the does in about three days so plans are still on track for him becoming available for pick up at the end of September.

Herd tested CAE negative at the end of last year, and he has tested negative for G6s.

He does not have to go, I just don’t have a need for as many bucks as I have given that I’m trying to trim back my herd.
Please send all inquiries to the farm page.
