Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital in Waverly opened its doors on October 20, 1994, the answer to the dream of Dr. Phyllis Frost. The modern facility was established with the idea of comprehensive medical and surgical care for animal patients in mind. The hospital contains a full laboratory and pharmacy as well as radiology and surgical areas. Our services also include endoscopy, ultrasound, and reproductive services.

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital, effective September 30, 2024. After 30 years of dedicated service, I have decided to embark on the next chapter of my life.

Reflecting on my time at the clinic, I am filled with gratitude for the trust and support you have extended to me. I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and compassionate individuals in the veterinary field. Together, we have provided high-quality care to countless animals, and it has been an honor to be part of such a wonderful community.

To our valued clients, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your pets' lives. Your trust and loyalty have been the cornerstone of my career, and I am profoundly grateful for the relationships we have built over the years.

As I transition into retirement, I am pleased to leave the clinic in the capable hands of the new managing veterinarian, my daughter, Dr. Jami Mallen. I have every confidence that she will continue to uphold the high standards of care that we have established, and I am confident that this legacy will continue long after my departure.

I wish Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital continued success and growth in the years to come. May the clinic thrive and remain a beacon of hope and healing for all the animals it serves.

Thank you once again for the incredible journey. I will cherish the memories and the impact we have made together.

In honor of today being Global Cat Day and the start of National Veterinary Technician Week, we will be appreciating not only our feline friends but our amazing technicians! Today we will be getting to know one of our technicians Sammi. Sammi has been with Avenue of the Saints for almost 3 years working at both of our locations, where she does a lot of work behind the scenes to give the best care for our patients. She loves assisting the doctors in surgeries and taking part in medical cases. Sammi said her most interesting case she has been a part of was assisting with a surgery on a urinary issue where they pulled over 20 bladder stones from a dog! Sammi has a 1 year old Bernese Mountain dog named Maya, her first fur baby! Some fun facts about Sammi is that her favorite color is blue, her favorite TV show is NCIS and her favorite food would either be mashed potatoes or pasta. After Sammi finishes a full day of assisting in surgeries and helping with appointments she likes to go home and relax with her pups. We hope you join us everyday this week while we appreciate our amazing girls that help us give the best care to both our patients and clients. ♥️
