While we are done raising pups here, we are still offering stud service with Jack.
We unbiasedly (of course)think he’s hands down the best dog, love his loyalty, calm personality and his playfulness… And have always hoped to raise all our pups to be like him.
He is AKC registered, OFA certified hip, elbows and heart. Genetic testing is all clear. Brucellosis testing negative. Has sired many large litters.

I know, you haven’t heard from us for awhile. Today, Momma Raya is officially done with motherhood. 😢
She’s feeling super groggy and very slow moving but her sweet tail wagging tells us that she still loves us.
Praying for a speedy healing and recovery. ❤️

This chapter is now finished in our family’s life.

Harvey, now Cedar, went home to his new family where he will live with another homeschool family and two other goldens.
I love that he will be with his people almost 24/7 like he was here.
This guy really stole my heart this last week, and as my husband told me, I probably set myself up for heartbreak and tears…because we all know how much I get attached and how much I have loved every one of the puppies that we’ve had hit the ground here at GFR.
That’s it, guys.

It’s been an amazing experience and thank you so much to everyone who chose us when they chose a breeder for their new family member.

Momma Raya got a new sweater to keep warm in these cold winds that we’ve been experiencing.
Did you know that dogs- like human mommas sometimes- experience hair loss with childbirth and nursing? This time, Raya lost quite a bit of hair and now we are just trying to make sure she stays warm (and stylish?🤷🏻‍♀️).
Harvey’s here one more day and soaking up the snuggles with momma and the rest of us.

He’s off to his new family and will have a Corgi brother to play with.

Autumn, now Maggie, spent the afternoon soaking up all our one on one attention.
And now she’s heading home with her new parents. We know that she will be loved because she’s pretty impossible not to love!

Pumpkin, now Banks, just left us for his new home- where he has a big brother from one of Raya and Jack’s previous litters (Spruce- now Sammy) AND a human baby brother!
This mom and dad love potty training (They didn’t say that!🤣)
We know Banks is gonna bring a lot of fun to his family!

Last night, Cider ( now Cooper) left us to join his new family!
I love this puppy: he’s pretty chill, a wonderful snuggler, and let’s us know that he loves his people. Can’t wait for his family- especially his little girls- to grow up with his friendship.

Like children, I don’t know how it’s possible for these puppies to grow up so fast. 💔
Tomorrow the Final Five turn eight weeks old, and the first pup will go home to his new family.
(Next week, bring me tissues and chocolate!😭)

This is the most gorgeous time of year…in my opinion anyway.

It feels almost symbolic that our last litter of the Gold Feather breeding program comes at a time when farmers in the fields are bringing in their harvests…reaping the rewards of their hard work. The end of a beautiful season.

We got the pups pics taken yesterday…
And I was sweating.
You’d think because it is a smaller litter, it would be so much easier. It isn’t.
Because leaves are fun to chase and eat.
Because sometimes you just want to run to the people you know and love.
Because sometimes you just want to run FROM the people you know and love.
And Because sometimes nature calls.
That sums it up.
Can’t wait to get back the rest of the pics from this session.

Here they are already TWO WEEKS OLD!

Harvest, Autumn, Cider, Timber and Pumpkin

Eyes are open. Starting to get up on all fours. Sleeping in a sleep nest. Almost done with ENS. Ears are starting to unseal (They will soon get to enjoy my voice!🤣). Getting cuter everyday!

Every day, they get even more lovable.
And the kids all love taking their turns holding puppies.
This morning, the youngest kiddo woke up and bypassed breakfast to run downstairs and hold his puppies. These pups are very loved while they are here.

A week and a half with these five pups, and already every one of them has doubled their birth weight… and we have had virtually zero worries about them or momma.

One week and one day with these five pups!
We are seeing little eyes starting to open, especially Pumpkin. And Timber is really trying to walk on all fours, instead of dragging himself across the whelping box.
Still nothing better than puppy snuggles.
