We had an exciting Liberty clinic this past weekend at Honeysuckle Riding Academy. We had Caitie Holtzman from Versatile Horsemanship , Texas come give a clinic that was exceptional and inspiration! She is a very accomplished horsewoman and performs her freestyle liberty all over and has won the invitational freestyle at the championships. Thank you Caitie!! Will be posting videos.

This past weekend, several of our members competed in one of the virtual shows, and had great success!

This weekend is one of the ILHA on line shows! A group of members will be practicing and recording their tests on Sunday after noon and you are welcome to come watch!
Did you know that in the beginning you can start on the Leadline or you can perform your test in a round pen at your shoulder!
Liberty patterns are very inviting and great practice for you and your horse.
The class list for the weekend and the Novice leadline and the Novice Training at The Shoulder Patterns are in the pictures.
The patterns are no secret and you can see them on the ILHA website in the full pattern book!

Okay folks many people have been asking about us hosting a liberty clinic this year! We have the opportunity to host Catie and Elliot of versatile Horsemanship May 4, 5, 6. That is a Thursday, Friday and Saturday just so you are aware. This clinic will be open to all levels of participants!  We currently have five people committed and five more openings. The total cost of all three days is $750. If you are not local and will need lodging and stalls that will be additional.  please go and investigate their page as they were just exhibitors at road to the horse! We realize it is short notice and a $150 nonrefundable deposit is due by Friday, April 7 to secure your spot.

Road to the Horse 2023 welcome's entertainer and guest clinician, Caitie Holtzman. Originally from Georgia, Caitie Holtzman is based in Nocona, Texas, with her husband, Elliot where together they own and operate Versatile Horsemanship. They start colts, train liberty horses, and compete in various aspects of the Western performance horse world.

Hello! We hope with this warm weather you’ve all been getting time to spend with your horse! Although we have not been active in posting much this winter, our members have been quite active and we will be posting some upcoming events. Last fall several of our members attended the international liberty event in Lexington Kentucky and had lots of fun and learning! Several of our members also participated in the virtual championships, and we will be posting some of their videos for you to watch! The first video is of Carter Gerdon and her AQHA gelding Justa Gun Sw***er completing the Novice Youth Ba****ck and Bridleless Pattern. They were champions in this division this year.
The fun part about doing the virtual shows is that you can get lots of practice and get your patterns judged by actual international liberty judges, complete with a score, sheet and commentary to help you get better!
