❄️ Introducing our KPH Winter Riding Challenge ❄️

This self-paced challenge is meant to help motivate you and keep you focused on reaching your riding goals for 2025! With frigid weather, short days and less riding time, winter can always be a tough season for equestrians. Winter doesn’t have to put brakes on equine enrichment with the KPH Winter Riding Challenge!

Open to all horses & riders of all ages, breeds, disciplines and skill levels.

Cost to participate – $50

Rewards –
1st place with the most riding time will win a spot in a clinic of choice in 2025. This includes our mini cattle clinic series or obstacle/horsemanship (up to a $150 value).

Log more than 25 hours and you will be entered into a drawing to earn fun prizes such as a Horse & Rider photoshoot with Kim Kupec Studios, Equine Massage with Kim Savage, gift cards, KPH apparel and more!

Q&A’s
▪️What counts – riding, groundwork and liberty
▪️What doesn’t count – grooming and chores
▪️How many activities can I count per day – you can count up to 2 per day, per horse for example a morning session and afternoon session
▪️How many horses can I use – there is one entrance fee per horse. You can enter the challenge with multiple horses if you’d like.
▪️This challenge is self-paced and can be completed at your property or off-site as long as it is with the same horse. It does not have to take place on KPH property.
▪️Join in a KPH event during this challenge and get DOUBLE the ride time!

Dates: January 15th – March 15th All Completed logs need to be in by March 15th, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST to be entered into the drawings.

Our challenge is on the honor system. We trust that what you say is accurate depiction of your session.

EVERYONE WHO COMPLETES THE CHALLENGE AND TURNS IN THEIR LOG BY MARCH 15TH WITH 25 HOURS OR MORE WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THE RANDOM DRAWING FOR PRIZES. Additional prizes may be awarded at our discretion to those who tag us on social media.

We are hosting two midday Monday cow clinics on Jan 20 and Feb 17 from 2-4pm. Details are in a separate post! School is out so come have some fun working the herd!

With the New Year quickly approaching, it is the perfect time to start thinking about setting your riding goals for 2025. Let us help keep you motivated and on track by developing new skills to perform at your absolute BEST!

Goals are vital to your success! Some goals may be performance based like scoring higher on a dressage test some however are process based such as improving your horses suppleness.

Here are some things to ask yourself
1. What were my goals for 2024?
2. Where is there room for improvement?
3. What did I enjoy most about riding this past year?

Now let’s make it FUN! Comment below with a photo of you and your horse and tell us your goals! Sharing may encourage others to step out of their comfort zone and set goals for themselves!

It’s always nice when we can slow down the busy holiday season, gather together and sit around the fire with good food and even better people. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful ranch family! We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas season with their loved ones!

Our first annual Christmas Obstacle Clinic was a great success. We had a morning session followed by an afternoon session. Thank you to everyone who participated.

That’s a wrap for our 2024 clinics! As always, we are working on a calendar full of events for 2025.

🎁 Give the gift of leasing a horse! 🎅

Winter leases are now available for select horses. Leases start as early as December 1 and run through March 1 (may be able to extend the leases if desired). This would give you more ride time over the winter! Leases would guarantee ride time on Saturdays and 1-3 evenings per week. Lease terms can be discussed!

Must be at least an advanced teen to lease, not available to beginners at this time.

Our Halloween clinic was such a blast that we have decided to host a Christmas themed Trail Obstacle Clinic this year!

Save the date: Saturday, December 7th.
Rain date December 14.

This is a 3 hour clinic working on challenging obstacles to overcome with you and your horse. This can be done under saddle or in hand. This clinic will have special obstacles specifically related to the holiday season. Similar to our last layout, we will host a morning session 9am-12pm and an afternoon session from 1pm-4pm. Offering 6 spaces for each session. Clinic is $150 per participant. 50% non refundable and non transferable deposit to secure your spot, remainder due day of.

🌟 We are hiring 🌟

We are looking to add one more ranch hand to our team! Must be available Saturday and Sunday mornings on a permanent basis. More hours available to the right candidate. Approximately 5 hours per shift. Duties include feeding, haying, cleaning and filling water troughs, seasonal blanketing, cleaning 6 stalls and being aware of any behavioral changes or medical issues that need to be addressed.

This is a ranch job, physical labor is part of it. Weather plays a huge role in it. Must be comfortable handling horses, young horses is a plus. Ideal candidate is detail oriented, enjoys working with a team, observant and resourceful! Looking for the right match for long term. Competitive pay and opportunities can be discussed.
