Hello Everyone,
Meet Odd Ball. He was brought to us from the Humane Society which is where he was brought after someone had pulled him off a glue trap and they realized that he needed more medical attention than they could provide at the time. We nursed him back to health and now he is ready to find his forever home. Please let us know if you or anyone you know would like to adopt him.

Good Morning Everyone,
Meet Creamsicle and Shurbert. These two came to us a few months ago and have been through so much. The one on the right is Creamsicle. She was hit by a car which led to her becoming blind. And The one on the left is Shurbert. He was found on the side of the road alone and cold. Through it all these two found each other and have become best friends. These two adorable kittens would love to be adopted together due to Shurbert being a guide for Creamsicle.
Thank you all in advance for your help in finding them a home.

Meet Khaleesi, our newest rescue kitten! She was found on the side of the road, very weak and lethargic. She was admitted to our hospital severely debilitated, non-responsive and hypothermic. Our veterinary staff worked very hard to stabilize her with IV fluids and medicine and we have her in an incubator to help also. We were not sure if she was going to make it through the night, but thankfully she did. It is like a night and day difference from today vs yesterday with her. She is not out of the woods yet, but if she is able to pull through, she will need her furever home. She is a little fighter. She is eating and drinking and trying her best to be vocal. She also has the cutest little meow, we are hoping she continues to get better day by day. Please send healing vibes her way!

We had a wonderful week last week closing out our Vet Camp sessions with a special Wildlife Vet Camp, put on by us and Carolina Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. The kids had amazing opportunities to learn about, see, and work with some of the wildlife that is being rehabilitated, both here at our hospital, and at their pre-release sites. This program was completely volunteer for the week from some of our staff and their volunteers. We all had a great time!

If you are interested in this type of event in the future for your child (or yourself), we will be sending out surveys to decide on next offerings, even it may be for 1 day. Email [email protected] for us to put you on an email interest list!

We are wrapping up our fourth week of Vet Camp!

We had a great week with our elementary and middle school sessions! Campers got to see, learn about, and interact with a variety of animals, from vultures to pig to rabbits to snakes. Campers also learned all about becoming a veterinarian, and practiced skills such as animal handling, acupuncture, running labs and diagnostics, performing exams, wildlife rehabilitation, and much more!

We loved having our campers, and are looking forward to next week with our advanced middle schoolers!

We had a great third week of vet camp with our middle and elementary school sessions!

From vultures, to turtles, fawns, guinea pigs, snakes, kittens, and more, there was no shortage of critters for our campers to learn about and interact with!

Campers learned about multiple aspects of being a veterinarian, including leading exams, diagnostics, surgery, wildlife medicine, first aid, and even acupuncture.

We loved having all of our campers this week and hope to see them next year. We are looking forward to our next week of camp!

We had a blast in our second week of Vet Camp with both our Middle School and Elementary School groups!

Groups got to practice medical skills such as animal first aid, acupuncture, examinations, and other tests. They put their skills to use with mock exams, blood labs, and more.

There were many animals to see, both hospital wildlife and camper pets. Between kittens, dogs, bearded dragons, snakes, guinea pigs, and even a baby turkey vulture, there was no shortage in variety of the critters that campers learned about!

We hope to see you all again soon and have a fantastic rest of your summers!

We can't wait for next week!

Vet camp Session 1, day 1.

We had a great first day of Vet Camp! We started by getting to know each other and the hospital. We toured areas such as surgery, the lobby, the treatment center, our kennels, and more!

We practiced greeting dogs, and got to see all kinds of critters, including guinea pigs, cats, turtles, and even got to pet a baby vulture.

We made crafts and drew our "dream pets" and decorated our journals to use throughout the week.

See you tomorrow, campers!
