Check out the OGLFD dogs “run” in the snow 😂🤣💜🐾
What do you see in Aspen’s body language? While answering Maddy’s questions about how Aspen typically responds I also was watching. I noticed her ears darting, disengagement, tail communication coming and going , and that’s just from behind. Aspen was overwhelmed by the new environment but not to the point of shut down. So what did we do to change this disobedience that was not her fault? We got her up and moving to shake it off and then we all chilled out on floor practicing settling so Aspen could take everything in with no expectation other than to just chill there. She was able to calm down and finish the outing. We are going to continue working with her and exposing her to everything she missed out on before coming to us. Once she’s ready she will be up for adoption/placement but we still have a little bit before she’s ready for that. 💜🐾😉
Considering he had to be picked up and put in the car just a few days ago I’d say we’ve made quite a bit of progress. Poor guy has had car anxiety and some motion sickness prior to coming. He’s doing very well and we can’t wait to see how he does over the rest of his stay! 💜🐾
Here’s a little glimpse into today! 💜🐾
Pearl got introduced to the wheelchair and forearm crutch today. We worked on place and walking/redirection with a dropped leash. 💜🐾
Hars allergy flare has calmed down enough that she felt up to playing this afternoon and with no limp we decided to try out my... I mean HER new toy 😂💜🐾
Rayne - Intro to Wheelchair - 2.27.20
I feel it is important for every service dog to be introduced and be comfortable working around/walking along with a wheelchair. If a handler has to go to the hospital or is sick or injured... it is a helpful skill so all dogs I work with will work with a chair at some point. It’s one of those just in case skills that are good to have in your pocket.💜💜
Just wanted to share a progress video of some of the things we’ve been working on Day 1 with Mr. BB!
He will be with us for a week and a half total.
