Can my dog eat bananas? Of course! Bananas are high in potassium and vitamins B6 and C, which makes them safe and healthy for dogs to consume. They are also filled with fiber and magnesium, which can alleviate gastrointestinal pain, and aids in bone growth by increasing protein and vitamin absorption. The peel is difficult to digest so it is best to avoid feeding them to your pups. It is always best to ask what foods are safe for dogs before feeding them anything. Call us anytime at (781) 400-8181 for any of your questions!

The open-mouth sniffing face is caused by something called the “flehmen reaction,” and it’s perfectly normal. When your feline friend takes a sniff and leaves its mouth open for a few seconds, it’s actually drawing air into the mouth and up into Jacobson’s organ. This action helps the organ to process the scent more deeply than your cat’s nose can and sends signals to your cat’s brain. Usually, cats will have the flehmen reaction when sniffing urine or f***s from another cat, since these substances contain pheromones. Do your cats do this?

When compared to many other cat breeds, the Siamese may have more than nine lives! That is because the average domesticated cat lives between the ages of 12 and 15 years while a typical Siamese can reach up to 20 years old. There have been even longer Siamese lifespans recorded. To make sure that your kitty lives the longest life possible, it is imperative to keep on top of their healthcare! This includes routine vaccinations, checkups, and consulting with us whenever something seems off.

Every pet owner loves taking their pet for a walk, but walking a Pug needs special attention. Unlike other dogs, these are brachycephalic dogs. Pugs love going for walks, but you don’t want to walk them 3 miles. Roughly 30 minutes in their daily routine should do the trick. It’s important to walk them at a comfortable pace where their small legs can keep up and when the weather isn’t so hot.
