SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

With the arrival of heavy leaf cover and warmer temperatures thermal drones are limited on when and what we can do, below are some FAQ.

FAQ
Q: Can thermal work in the summer?
A: To fly during the daytime hours we need a cloudy day, preferably with it raining out

Q: Does the heavy leaf cover affect what you can do?
A: Yes 100% it affects us, especially in heavy wooded area we have to work at a slower pace and we still miss heat signatures, once we locate a signature sometimes we still cannot identify it because of the heavy leaf cover.

Q: What areas can you still do a solid job in?
A: low lying brush along with woods that are not wall to wall with trees, fields are very easy for us as well.

Q: Can you fly at night during the summer when it’s cooler out?
A: Yes we can but the problem is sometimes after locating a signal even with our high Tech lighting system, we are unable to identify the signal in wooded areas.

Q: Is a thermal drone even worth calling out during the summer/do you still find lost pets
A: Yes we still do find lost pets, a few things though we should mention, our success rate is cut well over 70% of what we can do during fall-Spring ,
Size matters If you have a 10 pound dog missing I’m going to suggest not having us out but if you have a horse we would highly recommend having us out.

Q: Is the process during the summer different if I’m looking to hire Lost Pet Drone Recovery
A: Yes First thing we will do is ask for your address, we will then pull up an arial map that shows timber cover and type of timber in your area we will then discuss our finding with our clients on how much we think we can help.

Our goal at Lost Pet Drone Recovery is to be honest and upfront with our clients, we will NEVER turn anyone away because of low odds of finding your lost pet but we will not sugar coat your situation either, we will be as upfront with you as possible with what the odds are for your situation, we will NEVER hype something up just to gain you business, Yes we are a business but that come down the line for us, our main focus is getting your lost pet back to you safely and let the business end of it take care of itself.

Bruce is home safe and sound, Video coming sometime in the next week or so, we have a few other videos we are editing up to share as well. Today I wish it was all skill but we were extremely lucky the weather cooperated and the foliage in the area was not real heavy and we started in the right direction. Took just under 16 minutes to locate Bruce.

Yes we do night time recoveries as well. This was a total team effort, I was already on a call when got another one for a lost poodle named Payton, so I called Lost Pet Drone Recovery teammate Darrell Maggert and he was able to take the call, once I was finished I went to help as well, when I arrived Mary Humphrey was already there so we had all out bases covered if we were able to locate Payton, it took some time but Payton was recovered in the early morning hours. A HUGE shout out to Mary, I think Darrell says it best in the video...She sure is a trooper.

It't 4H season, this weekend we got our first Calf call of the spring, We have a passion for all animals but the 4H program is near and dear to our hearts. We 100% work for donations when helping 4H owners. This Calf took is under 15 minutes to find, as most livestock finding them is the easy part. this calf took us on a journey, later this spring ill share the whole recovery.

If this video don't make you smile nothing will, Jazzy the Yorkie went on a 7 day journey after getting scarred during a storm that produced tornado's Being gone that long she went into flight mode and we needed to do everything right to make this work and the owners did just that they followed directions perfectly and the rest is history...... Just to give you an idea of how long this process took from the time we started the process you see in the video to the ending was over an hour.

Oh Max gave us fits at times, but after 4 hours of searching and following it all came together, we were able to get Grandma up wind of him for an off lead recovery. Huge shout out to Grandma for doing everything perfect step by step,

Been falling behind on posting videos, I'm hoping in the next couple weeks I can get a few of them out from earlier in the year . This was a recovery we did just this past Sunday between the storm that hit Sunday, It takes a team a lot of times to get these dogs safe and this recovery was no different. "Thanks Mary for your help" Quick back story, earlier in the day a gal was involved in a car accident and when she got both her dogs out of the car they got away. One of them had a long lead attached so I was most concerned for this one. This is the video of the recovery of the one with the lead attached. "Yes BOTH dogs are now home safe"

At the end of the day we don't care how the lost pet gets caught as long as it does, A lot of times it takes a team to all work together.

Another very busy weekend with Pet Recoveries, Not all of them go as quickly as this one did, we were up in the air less than 20 minutes and we had her found.

This recovery had a little bit of everything, Ella is on medication for her seizure's and had been missing for 4 days, we flew a couple days earlier but was unable to locate her, the owners then had a sighting of her and contacted us immediately, TIME is everything when searching with a drone. once we arrived it didn't take us long to locate her. Ella had run already once from her owners so the plan was to ONLY locate then call Mary to come in and set a live trap, But that plan took a quick turn once we seen Ella starting to have one of her seizure's we took this opportunity to see if we could get to her before coming out of it. There was a lot of team work that took place on this recovery.

I also run the Michigan Dronedogs page we do some other drone and dog work on that page where lost pet is designated for pet recovery only We have been busy the last two weeks with pet recoveries. (See below) Please keep in mind drones are not the save all tool, YES it’s a VERY powerful tool but a lot of things have to line up for us to be successful. Top things we need is a Recent “Confirmed” sighting recent meaning hours not days.
