ned, displaced, or otherwise homeless, fluffy, small-breed dogs, primarily Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apsos. We also operate a Forever Foster “sanctuary” program where dogs may live out their natural lives, if adoption is not possible due to age, health, or behavior. We are headquartered in South East Michigan and our dogs are fostered in private homes across the US. We currently adopt within the continental US (subject to applicable regulations for the import of dogs) and offer free transport by air (in cabin) or road to most out-of-state adopters. It has been an overwhelming couple of months on multiple fronts that has required that that FM step back from social media.

1. The intake requests keep coming in and that FM's heart is absolutely broken at this state of affairs. The majority of these dogs will not live. Most likely, this situation will not improve any time soon.

2. We have a backlog of applications to process again. Hang in tight if you are interested in one of our dogs.

3. ‼️ Lastly, we have resolved a fundraising issue in California (pending submission of latest return) after being disproportionately affected by the California AB-488 bill due to a technicality.

Indeed, a law meant for that state resulted in several online fundraising platforms being turned off nationwide for us because the platforms cannot distinguish location of a donor reliably apparently. For liability reasons, it is safer for them to just turn off fundraising nationwide for nonprofits dealing with AB-488. We share because we believe in transparency.

Good morning. Due to personal and professional obligations, we have not been as active on social media in recent weeks. We anticipate a return in the coming days. All rescue matters that are pending will be addressed as we get back to a more normal schedule.

Since arriving in rescue in May, Tiernan has been making steady progress at home, learning routines, gaining trust, and feeling more comfortable and secure.

Lately, when outside the home, he has grown more protective of that FM when they are out and about. Perhaps his instincts are sharpening, and he is sensing something she cannot.

Time will tell how he continues to adjust, but his devotion is unmistakable. He is a good boy. ☘️💚
