Halloween brought smiles and trick or treat to a dreamers. We also have sweet pea giving hugs today and this young gal was so happy she cried happy tears and just kept hugging the horse. So sweet!

Thank you for following along on our page. We know lots of folks know about Dreamer's Place Ranch.

We call ourselves a "Ranch" since we have horses,cows and so on. We opened Dreamer's to give a place to service men and women to recharge and reconnect as they give so much. We wished to share our peaceful place with all.

Retreat comes to mind when we sit back and reflect on all that goes on around here.

Dreamers would like to share our year in review. We will like to honor the Veterans as well as share what goes on around here.

Invite your friends and family and see what goes on at the Ranch. We are so much more than a retreat for our service members. We are amazed at the amount of folks who visit and leave saying we had no idea and we will be back.

We will have the food and drink ready. Come sit and enjoy your community in action.

Tuesday as I watched this gentleman with different possibilities. I am reminded of how at times I have to remind my kids. Someone is always watching you. Be aware of how you show young and old whom you wish for them to see.

This gentleman loves being at Dreamers and has few spoken words. However he grew up around farmers and animals. I watch with joy as he walks the horses ! Loves on the cows, as I sit and watch the learned behavior of caring for the animals.

He is so fun to hang out with and watch him enjoy his passion on the days he comes to visit. His smile, laughter is contagious and we are blessed by the joy he radiates.

Monday brought a beautiful day at the Ranch. I left my phone inside and just lived in the moment!

The moments were many. Today we had some pretty big aha moments. In September a school started up and they send different student every other week.

A young man with Different possibilities came for the first time in September. He got off the bus.. barely he sat in the yard and pulled grass and watched others. Fast forward to today. After four 4 visits he allowed the animals near him and petted the horses! The big ones!!!!! As well as went into the mini pen!! Huge steps !

This is why we do what we do! Come hang out with us and see what goes on around here!

Congratulations to our costume winners Laurie Wilborg and old McDonald farm! They also took third place in the chili cookoff.

Vierro took 2nd in costume attire . Jessica’s white chicken chili was good as well. We wish we could have given each team a trophy!

Thank you to everyone who came out on a chilly windy evening to have chili and enjoy time at the Ranch! We had 6 teams of volunteers that made chili to feed others.

We enjoyed watching the kids play and the adults visit.

We had a nice group of about 40 folks come enjoy the night.

Being Me

Coming to the Ranch can be harder for some folks. We all have a bit of a contamination awareness since Covid.

We have had several guest where the dust, dirt and well everything at the ranch causes higher levels of anxiety for them. So some days it is a quick visit.

The past few weeks a gentleman with this. While sitting in a chair watching a movie, because that is how he chills. He said Laura I love to be here it is somewhere I feel different. I asked him, different how? He said different is good . I want to be here. I feel like I can sit and be me!!!!!

This is all we strive for. Learning and having that feeling of being ME!

We can’t break the cycles of mental health issues. However you may push them aside for a bit.

Chili, treats and beautiful weather! The smells coming out of the indoor arena will be different on a whole new level this afternoon.

Tables are set up and fire pit (propane) is ready for people to sit and enjoy. We cleaned the kids toys for young ones to see how many scoops of dirt they can haul.

Come enjoy a bowl of chili or two. Wear your costume if you wish.

The Week has came to an end! What a fun week we have had. We don’t always have pictures of our days and the folks that come visit.

When your at Dreamers it is easy to leave your phone put away and just make memories and not document them in pictures.

48 hours away! Dreamers first chili cook off!

We have 8 teams cooking up chili! The Nebraska Volleyball gals will play on the big screen.

Wear a costume if you wish to! Bring your appetite for some great chili. We are sure you will find the one you like.

The week at Dreamers has been full of animal snuggles and fellowship!

The powerful things I learn from cleaning stalls. At Dreamers place we have the privilege of being part of many “ aha moments”in the lives of our guests.

What we don’t mention is the amount of cleaning we get to do. Stall cleaning gives you the time to think and mentally work out what is going on. I have had days where cleaning the stalls is not appealing when it is 105 degrees and Nebraska humidity sets in.

During this time you get to work out your frustration and you always feel rewarded by grateful animals. Time caring for an animal that is 1200 pounds and acts like a giant puppy. These are the best therapy mental and physical health.

After scooping manure you really do understand that life’s problems where really not that bad.

The wind has blown us around all week! What a fun week we are having!

We have had so much going on the parking lot has been full.

Dreamers has met so many new friends and Cinderella has given so many cow kisses!
