Our hearts ache for this sweet little guy who is still waiting at the shelter. Hash Brown has had some interest and even a meet and greet, where he did amazing with the other dog. Unfortunately, the family wasn’t ready to commit, leaving our lovable pup back at square one.

Found as a stray and likely dumped, Hash Brown’s story is all too common for beagles. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots, and he’s ready to fill a home with joy and love!

Hash Brown is everything you’d want in a companion. He’s playful, social, and absolutely adores people. His love for playing with other dogs makes him an ideal addition to any family. Once you meet him, we know you’ll fall head over heels!

🐾 October is Pit Bull Awareness Month! 🐾

For us, every month is dedicated to celebrating pit bulls! We see many of these wonderful dogs at our shelter, and we’re committed to educating our community about their true nature. We love their playful personalities, adorable round faces, and their incredible loyalty.

Sadly, pit bulls are often misunderstood and overlooked. Many people judge them based on stereotypes and misinformation, forgetting that it’s humans who put dogs in bad situations. This isn’t fair to the dogs who have so much love to give.

It’s perfectly okay to have your own breed preferences, but it’s not okay for these dogs to face judgment without reason. The mistreatment they endure is heartbreaking, and we hear negative comments about them all too often at our shelter. Many of our pitties come with tragic stories, having been abandoned or treated as disposable, no matter their age- yes seniors AND even puppies. Yet, no matter what they’ve experienced, they don’t let that break their spirit. They continue to show love and resilience.

We can all learn so much from pit bulls. Let’s come together to spread love for these amazing dogs, not hate. Join us in advocating for pit bulls every month! ❤️🐶

Meet Tinga, the happiest and most playful puppy you’ll ever meet! Tinga is about a year and a half to two years old and came to us as a stray. She definitely had an owner before, as she was found with collars, but sadly, no one ever came to reclaim her. We can’t understand why, because Tinga is an absolute gem!
This silly, goofy girl loves nothing more than running around the play yard, showing off her joyful spirit. She’s a bundle of energy who enjoys every moment of playtime and loves being by your side. Whether it’s chasing a ball or simply enjoying a sunny day, Tinga’s enthusiasm is infectious.
Tinga also loves going for walks down the path, eagerly exploring her surroundings and enjoying every step. She is a smart pup who is picking up basic training quickly, thanks to her keen intelligence and eagerness to learn.

Meet Matilda, our 6-month-old rat terrier who is ready to find her forever home! Sadly, she was surrendered when her elderly owner could no longer care for her, and while a potential adopter showed interest, they didn’t follow through—so Matilda is still with us, waiting for her perfect match. Matilda is spayed, up to date on her shots, and has all the charm of a sweet, playful puppy. She loves to run around in the play yard and will literally leap into your arms! Like any young pup, she’ll need some basic obedience training, including potty training, but with her fun-loving personality, she’s sure to brighten your home.

We can’t understand how this sweet little dog is still waiting for his forever home. 💔 Cricket is about 4 years old, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccines. Despite his gentle and loving nature, this poor boy was heartlessly abandoned on the streets by his previous owners. It’s heartbreaking to think someone left him to fend for himself. 😔

Cricket is incredibly sweet, loves meeting people, and enjoys the company of his furry friends. 🐕❤️ He’s the perfect companion if you’re looking for a snuggler who will happily curl up in your lap and shower you with love. 🥰

Our Senior Sweetheart Seeking a Forever Home!

Johnny is a senior dog who truly deserves a loving home. No dog should have to spend a long time in a shelter, but especially not a sweet boy like Johnny, who is one of our longer residents. Watching him get greyer is absolutely heartbreaking, and we can't help but wonder: why is he still here? Statistically, Johnny has everything working against him. Older dogs often get overlooked, and being a black pit bull makes it even harder for him to find a family. How is that fair?

But Johnny doesn’t let that get him down. He’s a laid-back boy who simply wants to be by your side. Whether it’s going for a walk or sitting outside enjoying the sunshine, Johnny is just happy to be with you. He came to us with another dog named June when they were found as strays, and he gets along well with other dogs too. Don’t let his senior status fool you; Johnny still has a lot of life left in him! He can surprise you with some spunky zoomie moments when he’s outside running around with his friends.

Kelce is a lot of dog with a lot of love to give. He’s super social and absolutely loves meeting new people, and plenty of people love meeting him too—but sadly, no one has followed through. No one has been ready to be as loyal to Kelce as he will be to them. It’s heartbreaking to see this amazing dog get overlooked time and time again, but we know his forever family is out there, waiting to find him.

Kelce was found as a stray and never reclaimed, but he’s ready to finally have a home where he can be cherished and loved. Hope is our LONGEST resident. Every day we ask ourselves: Why is she still here? How is this even possible? She’s been with us so long that it feels like she’s accepted this place as her home. But that’s not how it’s supposed to be.
Hope deserves so much more. She deserves a soft bed to sleep in, a family to love her, and a life where she can curl up with you to watch movies or spend lazy days in the sun. But instead, she’s still here. Still waiting. Still being overlooked. She doesn’t deserve this.
Hope was used. She was bred over and over, puppies sold for profit, and then when she wasn’t useful anymore, she was dumped like she meant nothing. She’s most likely a victim of backyard breeding, and her only crime? Being a sweet, loving dog who was no longer profitable.
People barley even ask about her. Some want to meet her. But no one ever follows through. And we don’t understand why. Is it because she’s blind in one eye? It doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s still sharp, still playful, still full of love. Or maybe it’s that initial burst of energy and non stop kisses when she finally gets to see you after being cooped up. But can you blame her? She loves people so much that her excitement can barely be contained. She just wants to love and be loved. Is that too much to ask?
Hope is 5-6 years old, spayed, and up to date on her vaccines. She even gets along with male dogs! She is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet, but we would give anything to see her finally live the life she deserves.
Please—don’t make Hope wait any longer. She’s given so much of herself already. It’s time someone gave her a chance. Will that someone be you?

🐾 Handsome’s Big Weekend Out! 🐾
This past weekend, our sweet boy Handsome got a break from the hustle and bustle of the shelter for a special sleepover with one of our staff members. And wow, did he have a blast! 🥰
Handsome, who’s been with us for a while now, hasn’t had much interest from potential adopters—something that truly breaks our hearts because we know just how much love he has to offer. This lovable guy is the definition of a Velcro dog. Wherever you go, Handsome will be right by your side, always ready to snuggle up and share his endless affection. 💖
The shelter environment can be stressful for him; it’s loud and chaotic, which has taken a toll on his spirits. So this weekend break was exactly what he needed! He got to decompress and enjoy some much-needed quiet time. Handsome is so loyal, affectionate, and just wants to be around his people 24/7.
While out on his sleepover, Handsome was thrilled to give all the kisses and snuggle up whenever he could. He watched cars pass by and people walking their dogs, all without a single bark or fuss—just calm observation. Moments like these are priceless, letting him soak in the world beyond the shelter walls.
Handsome came to us after being abandoned in a crate by his previous owner. Knowing what he’s been through only makes his loving personality shine that much brighter. Despite his rough past, he greets our staff with a wagging tail and a big smile every day.
We know the perfect home is out there for this sweet boy, and we can’t wait for the day when his forever family finds him. He’s ready to give all his love, and we just know someone will be so lucky to have him in their life. 🐶❤️

She's a Harlequin Great Dane, around 6 years old and because she gets along with just about everyone, will make a wonderful companion. Perdy is a big gal, so it’s preferred that she resides in a home with older children and with a family that has knowledge of the Harlequin Great Dane breed.
