These 2 girls are so sweet, I’ve loved them since day 1, they will definitely be a nice reintroduction back into my WE when they grow out 🤍

Tornado decided he wanted no part of posing yesterday, but overall he is the nicest Buck in my opinion. He’s got the shortest ear and bone, and he’s the smallest and compact.

Ears up everyone! today was hot, it sucked, BUT everybunny is doing good!! with all the buns that left over the past 3 weeks I had enough space to move almost everyone into the barn, I only have 4 rabbits left to move and then our ND doe colony, everyone got misted 4 times today and had Ice bottles to top it off. I still don’t feel the greatest but I’m making myself get up and do things. Ive felt productive the past 2 days and I know I’ve accomplished some stuff as well. Cages were cleaned over the past week, everyone had their preventative treatments this week as well. We also managed to declutter the house a bit and have finally moved the inside buns to their semi permanent area 🤍

We lost sweet James thismorning. He either choked or aspirated during the night, Milo was snuggling him close and you could tell he was mourning the loss of his companion. They have been bonded for over a year, but have lived beside each other their entire lives. James was 4 years old, he was the start of Virginias Vienna lines and he was named from a friend of hers who passed away the year he was born. She’s not taking his loss easily at all, does anyone have any fixed or young netherland bucks? We’d like to find him. New companion asap so he doesn’t get depressed 💔😞

Not something I was expecting to wake up too, but I’m happy. Everyone welcome project Alice, our summer surprise and miracle after the past 3 does all miscarrying/aborting almost full term. She will be bottle fed as momma can’t nurse due to an issue she had happen a few years ago, she had blown teats. Apollo was such a small Buck and we never seen him even try to mount her so we never thought she’d be pregnant! This is our last Apollo baby as he was whethered this spring.
She’s 25% Oberhaslie x 75% Nigerian dwarf.

This guy has come a very long way since getting him back severely emaciated and near death about 2 months ago. I keep going back and forth, we went to a swap yesterday and took 5 rabbits. He was the most social there, as you can see by the video he’s a spunky and a very friendly individual. Everyone LOVED him, not one single person wanted him, but the other 4 sold within an hour of getting there. I’d love to keep him and keep him as a mascot for cherry blossom as this is the tempermeant I strive for, But I also need to accept that my health puts me in a position where it’s unfair to him to be stuck in a cage all day when he loves free roaming and he’s so well behaved. I would absolutely love for him to go to a pet home, he can go with a set up. he’s a clean Buck, but he would need to be neutered as he will spray if he’s TOO excited, though I’d be happy to sponsor or pay for it. I want him to stay local as well, just for peace of mind. If anyone in Va has any leads please let me know. He deserves the world and unfortunately right now I can’t provide that for him

Sorry I haven’t shared any updates in a while, and that I’ve been slacking more the past few months with posting. I’ve been super sick and quite frankly I’ve been very depressed.
Unfortunately these heat waves has taken a toll on my rabbits. We lost 7 baby goats this year due to what we can only think either parasite overloaded or ketosis or something similar, maybe weaning I don’t know. We had 2 miscarriages and one abortion as well. Basically I have nothing to show for my Goats this year can I blame all of these issues on the Buck? Can this stuff be genetic? I’ve never known someone to have issues in their herd the way we’ve had, including my friend herself, she’s never had loss like this in her property before. my mental health is destroyed and this year is barely half way through. most of my rabbits are not used to being outside during the summer as I used to always house them inside. I can’t put them in the garage still, Which I’ve been hoping to do for several months now.. it’s the worst amount of losses I’ve had in 3 years I’ve been breeding.
I’ve lost rosaline, Basil, blaze, redemption, iron man, a foster rabbit, moons 2 babies. Most were lost at the earlier heat wave this year. Rose passed away anout 3 weeks ago. and now 4 entire litters died while I was out this past week because they weren’t being checked, and mommas all over nested. I almost lost Snooki, lyric, and harmony this past week. Almost lost Luna, and moon, 3 weeks ago, which they are now inside for the rest of the summer. Harmony lyric and Snooki will be moved in as soon as I can get To it but thankfully the heat died down for what looks to be the next 2 weeks atleast.
It’s been a miserable year for me for the animals here, i don’t know why I haven’t gotten rid of them all by now. I guess I just love them too much to see them officially gone. Between getting coccidia at the beginning of the year, having bad feed twice, the inevitable sweltering heat, loosing rabbits while I’m out sick because they aren’t being checked the way I check them due to bloat/GI. I’m kinda done. I have a few more litters expected but then I’m going to be done for the summer or until I can get my rabbits somewhere safe. Idk how the ND project is going to go now since iron man was our main Buck for that, especially since we have had such a hard time getting them moved the past few weeks. I may stop posting unless it’s a for sale post while I’m on that break, I don’t know yet, I have had little to no desire to be on my phone as of recently so I guess I’ll just see how it goes. I see I’m close to 2k followers. I do still have a giveaway planned for when I hit 2k likes and followers but honestly I don’t have much or anything to put in said give away at this moment except netherland does, and a holland Buck. We will see.

As much as it pains me to do this, I’ll be letting our red pair go. We had such a strong intent to have reds added into our wideband program, but it just hasn’t gone to plan. over and over again something goes wrong and I no longer want to waste money on this color project.. We just no longer desire to do reds right now.
The red doe is a possible Vienna carrier but has not thrown any vm yet in the 3 litters she’s had here. The red Buck is clean of Vienna, both are fully pedigreed.
I’ve put a lot of money into trying for reds to not get any so i am going to be stern on their price. Pm for more info

Singles, pairs, trios, or a good deal for all 4 of them! All are honestly very docile for netherlands, the daughters are about 3/4 months old the proven himi doe is I think 2 and the black doe is older but still in good health to breed(her litter with us was 7 live kits 1 peanut)
These are the last 4 still looking! All other ND babies have found their homes 🤍

If your nest boxes get so nasty to the point that the baby/babies are covered in urine scald, feces, and maggots. You need to get out of rabbits, because clearly you do not have the time of day to check over those poor creatures. It is NOT hard to check the next every day to see the conditions of it and the babies. If it’s wet? Pull and put fresh. if there’s poops? Pull it and put fresh. If it smells bad? Pull it, AND PUT FRESH. If a baby dies? PULL IT AND PUT FRESH!!!there is no reason for babies to be covered in maggots feces and piss. Absolutely no call for it. Here is an example of a clean nest box. I understand some does like to use their nest boxes as personal commodes, but there are ways to avoid it. Shelve the kits and only allow monitored or assisted feedings, add a litterbox beside the nest box, remove any hay and only put straw or something seemingly unappetizing so they don’t sit there and eat/defecate. The worst part is that mom/kit pair was sold.. and the buyer found them in that condition.the seller didn’t know, how??!! Like I don’t get it.
Well our cabinet incubator hatched… 🫣 they are just staying in these temporarily until we can split up our groups via color and breed the first one are all Virginias. They’re backyard mixed, some with an ameracauna roo, and some with a mixed bantam Cochin/silkie roo. They should all be some variety of blue/ green egg layers and will be incredibly hearty little birds. Mine are pure Ameracaunas and pure Wyandottes. I also have bantam Wyandottes that will be hatching in the next few days. I also have variety of ducklings hatching soon as well 🥰

Feeding the babies
These are dahlias babies, they are coming up on 3 weeks of age and being fed by hand. I’m currently down a hand so we had to make do with this for now 😅. I’m using goat milk from our goats. It has been warmed up and strained. Of course, I’m feeding them twice a day they’re getting about a full syringe or until their bellies are full to the touch. This is not the first litter I have hand raised I actually raised their mom’s litter, so this is a bit reminiscent. I’m definitely going to be struggling for a while but that’s OK. And that’s nothing new to be honest, but we will make it work🤍 I hope y’all enjoy the video if you stayed to watch the whole 6 1/2 minutes of it🤣🤣 Tell me, which baby is your favorite? and which one you think made the most mess?

It’s official! The hotel is booked, and the surgery appointment has been made. we’re going to Tennessee! This is all thanks to Hidden Hollow Homestead, I didnt think it would actually happen, had it not been for her it more than likely wouldn’t have. 🤍🥹
Would anyone be able to help me fund an emergent vet visit for my girl sky tomorrow? I really do not want to euthanize her but I do not have the money right now for a possible emergency vet visit and I’m at a loss on what to do 💔😭 I have NO CLUE what she did to her poor eye but she is literally trying to rip it out of her head and I don’t knwo what to do to get her to stop 🥺
