The Tennessee State Fair has announced the Best of Tennessee State Champion Dairy processors and products

Tennessee Dairy processors entered a total of 66 products in the dairy categories for the contest that was hosted by the University of Tennessee Center for Dairy Advancement and Sustainability.

The winners included…Mayfield Dairy for Homogenized Whole Milk, Homogenized 1% Milk, Chocolate Ice Cream, Strawberry Ice Cream, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Butter Pecan Ice Cream.

Flower’s Creamery for Non-homogenized Whole Milk, and Mild Cheddar Cheese.

The Best of Tennessee State Champions will be exhibited at the 2024 Tennessee State Fair in August.

This is a little out of our comfort zone, because one of us is more behind the scenes type of person than the other... but here we are! We are the folks who started the Five Points Franklin Market. This was our second business venture as we are also the owners of Ellie's Old Fashioned Doughnuts here in Franklin. Yep, that's us too! 🍩 ​​​​​​​​

Crottin de Wayne (crow-TAN duh Wayne) is made in the French style originating in the area of Sancerre in Berry, midway between Tours and Dijon. Our southern version is sweet and white, moist and mild with a wrinkled skin from the geotrichum candidum inoculated mold. Totally edible and delicious. According to Steve Jenkin's Cheese Primer: “these little barrels are among the tastiest, most popular chèvres in France.” Supply is limited.
