Always wanted to try something new?
Heard of Mt trail challenges but not sure what they are?
Here are some examples of our obstacles on our course! There are over 50 different obstacles layed out for you to play on all summer long!
At a Mt Trail Challenge you will be given a pattern from 10-14 obstacles (depending on the level you enter) you are not timed, so take a deep breath and relax!
The object is to come on straight, stay straight and come off straight. Sounds easy right?! Well most horses have a different idea of straight. But this is how you build your partnership with your horse...improve your horsemenship skills.
Points are given for the entry, exit and body of each obstacle. So if you fall off or can't get on, try finishing at least to save part of an obstacle. Get on where you can and do your best! Scoring it the same as we have the last 6yrs.
Very relaxed showing. We are all here to have fun and see if we can get our horses through the pattern. Everyone helps everyone! Great place for begginers.
๐5 Levels to to choose from
-Rookie- very beginner. Nervous to even be on the course. Can do the 1st 2 yrs showing Mt trail.
-Level 1 - newer, but not confident. Or you have been doing it but your horse is new or not confident. All walk.
-Level 2- can be anyone. Slightly confident. Will do 1 trot and slight maneuvers on the obstacles
-๐คLevel 3- can be anyone. More confident. Will do a few trots and more maneuvers on the obstacles (no cantering in level 3 this year, more promoting maneuvers)
-Level 4- can be anyone. Confident rider. Will have trots and cantering. Mostly maneuvers on all obstacles that can have a maneuver.
๐ค everyone can pick 2 levels to enter with the same horse and person combo. Rookie &1. 1&2. 2&3 or 3&4. If you have 2 or more horses you can do different levels or the same levels. Everyone can do in hand and riding or 1 or the other. Levels 1-4 get OQHA year end high points for youth an
